What have you done to your P5 today?

i put the front and side Motor mounts on. Vibes are there, but not as bad as I was expecting. virtually no difference after 1500 RPM except during warmup. Definite change in the shift behavior. Tranny and Rear mounts need to go in before I move on friday. that and packing will make for a busy week!

to the guy that asked...yes the turbo def. quiets it up alot... running open header with a turbo is actually bareable now without one...it sounds like crap and is way too loud...

Ha, here they are:

The more I look at it, the more I like it. You can see a few creases, which I am not happy about, but overall I think it really improves the P5 tails. They look a lot more understated, vs the two huge white circles on each. I am thinking about replacing the yellow turn signal bulbs with white to make them brighter, but I need to look at the signals functioning in direct sunlight first.

Buy chrome coated bulbs. I have both in my P5 and the wife's MPV. They improve the look and still light amber when lit.

Thanks guys. It's on the "to-do" list.

I called my Mazda dealership I bought my Mazda from just down the street from my work a couple weeks back to order a new wiper for the Mazda6 rear wiper I have and the parts guy was so utterly confused. Haha. He asked me what car it was for and I told him it's a Protege5 but it has a Mazda6 rear wiper. Then he argued with me a bit till I had to interrupt him and tell him it's modified. Then he said he can't find the part number without the Mazda6 VIN to order the rear wiper blade. Oy vey. So I just gave up and will order one online. Mazda dealerships here in Ohio aren't as hip as the Cali dealerships. I can only imagine what they would say if I politely asked to reflash my ECU for an MP3 ECU...

Order the refill from onlinemazdaparts.com (Montgomery Mazda). I just ordered one from there as well. I have the part # but it is at home.

Wow....no one has done anything?

I just replaced the ripped blade with a new blade for the Mazda6 rear wiper.

For anyone interested the part # for the blade refill is E112-67-333 and is $5.45 thru onlinemazdaparts.com

nice

um... my p5 has been sitting for a day.

i wanna wash her, but it is suppose to rain for the next 4 days.

He's trying to get an RX-7 that someone is selling locally. It will be a sad day if that car is sold though..... This was one of the pro5's I looked up to lol.

Ya I would venture to say it's my favorite p5 on here, sooo clean. I love rx-7's tho, so I can't blame him. RWD ftw! My last car was a 2nd gen RX-7 GTU-S. It was a blast to drive. Just wasn't a very practical daily driver lol.

Thanks guys. I really would rather not have to sell it because it's still a fun car but I can't justify having three vehicles to myself. And yes, I am looking into getting an FC but likely not the one posted on the forums. I'm just to the point where I really think I've modded the P5 well outside it's means and I'm beginning to lose interest in "completing" it. I was thinking last night and the thought of getting a FC RX7 in good condition and doing simple bolt-ons was quite appealing. If I got an N/A I wouldn't be looking for big power and I could deal with it actually being slower than my P5. Even if I managed to find a good TII I would only do so much. I think I'm just getting beyond heavily modifying cars

Either way, I feel like the FC platform is a much better starting point to make a performance car than the p5... They handle so well! I'm partial to RWD tho. I like the feel of a RWD car much more than fwd but maybe thats just me (I don't think it is). I regretted selling my FC a lot, but I didn't really have a choice at the time (I needed the money to put down on my MP3). I will probably have to buy another FC down the road to fill a void :D Or maybe it will be an FD....
