What have you done to your MSP today?

Just picked up a replacement transmission. $100 vs. $80 at Pull-A-Part and I'd have to remove it myself, so I thought the $20 was well worth it. Going to leave the shop an hour or so early today and hopefully knock it out tonight.

Yep... had it on the ground in an hour... #5, #6 and #7 transmissions...

You're scaring me man, I'm afraid my trans will fail with the new motor and higher boost. I replaced 3rd gear about 35k miles ago and the LSD about 40k miles ago, but I drive the car pretty hard.

Today I'm dropping off the Pope DP to have a bung welded in for the WBO2 sensor. Getting some hardware for the exhaust manifold studs and trying to remove the stud in the turbo to mount the downpipe. All I have to do now is install my 440 injectors I got in the mail recently, fill it with fluids, install the PS belt, put on the lower K member brace, install the CS exhaust, install the turbo/DP, drop the radiator back in and reinstall the intercooler piping. Then buy and install a new battery and see if it will run. Going to have to re-tune the AFC for the injectors, but I'm very interested in this Orange Virus deal. I'm familiar with re-flashing stock computers as just about every other car has the option to do so

They already have your upgraded fuel pump?

Sent you a PM Zealous- I'll be driving down to south Florida next weekend and can meet up with you and GIVE you one of my failed transmissions. Let me know. I'll be driving with the girls and a 12-14 hour drive, so there's no way I'm driving out of my way, but I'll gladly meet up with you. I will have room in the car for the transmission I believe.

No I don't have a fuel pump yet, most likely I will keep the stock injectors in until after I get the car running to make sure everything is working properly. I may wait to put the 440s in until I get the walbro.

I've got a Walbro in my basement and have had for almost two years now. Been waiting for the OEM to die.

775 installed plus 150 for software on unichip. I'm going with the plug and play option. Tom has my setup and is going test it out for me. Since I donated an ecu. I'm defiantly going for it.

I'm in the exact same boat. SSAFC v2 and 440's but no pump yet. I was gonna throw the 440s in, but its probably better to stick with factory until I know I'm running right. This oil pump bypass has been an interesting process.. kind of focusing on that first, then when I know I'm set okay I'll add the 440s and wire in ssafc. Hoping to crank it tonight... I need to finish up these AN lines, reinstall the hardpipes and put the battery back in and I should be good to go

I'm getting close with my car as well, got the stud removed today to bolt the DP to the turbo and swapped my ARP exhaust mani studs from the old motor to the forged motor. I thought I had a turbo-dp gasket in the garage but I don't so I wasn't able to put the DP on and bolt the turbo up today. Ordered exhaust gaskets for the CS exhaust, a new WB sensor for the innovate MTX-L I have had for a while and a stainless clutch line. I had a Corksport clutch line maybe 3-4 years ago but it failed and blew off completely after about 2 weeks. They sent me a new one and it did the same thing, finally ordered a techna-fit line.

Do you think that's a good pump? Kinda leary since it's so cheap and I have never heard of that brand before.

What functionality and support does $600 get you...?

For a dailydriven or mildly modded msp it looks like a great option, but im sure moreseriously modified cars will still want a reputable stand alone like haltech.
I was debating the advanrages of a sport 500 over splitsecond or unichip but the biggestrhing that stands outto me is the limited map options.
Id prob get the unichip for midly modified under 300hp car and a sprint 1000 for majorly modified. But i dont see any real data about this orange virus thing so who knows. For $200 to buy the chip with a basetune, thats sweet but noninformation on the site about what that all entails. Is it a plug and play solution or do you have to send him your ecu to be cutup and flashed? At that point a split second seems better value as its very easy to remove and holds its value extremely well.

You get a modified ECU with a daughter board with a base tune you're not turning in your current ECU. You can get the option of an ecu that can hold four chips/tunes.

From what I read it sounded like its a custom map made specifically for only your car they don't necessarily have base maps per se you get the new ECU and send them a certain amount of data logs for 2-3 weeks or however long it takes and they make a tune just for you based on the feedback they get. You can get a complete ECU or you can send yours in and they will modify it. There is the option for a base tune if you wanted to do it yourself. If I had the $ right now I would definitely check it out.

so does the ecu they send you store that data or do you need additional hardware? or dyno time ect? it still sounds like quite a lot when you can get a unichip with ebc and tuning software from pope for less. if his instructions are as clear as say, split second, that one sounds like a no brainer unless you really didnt want to touch the wiring at all.

dont get me wrong, a plug and play option is fantastic of course.. but if its $600 that seems a little pricey for a hack.
