What have you done to your MSP today?

Wish I can help with this Chris but idk. In other news, my car doesn't have a blown head gasket! God is good. We replaced both belts, topped off the coolant, and charged the battery. Drove the car from Tampa to orlando no problem. She felt sooo good to drive again. :)

That's good news...another msp saved from potential death

I'm thinking about getting a rocket bunny duck tail... hmmmm. Does anyone have example or photoshop pics of that?

I used to have a fiberglass mold for one, but haven't thought about it in a while. The plug the mold was pulled from looked good though. I'll poke around the garage tomorrow if I still have the mold it wouldn't be hard to pull one for you.

Ah man that would be awesome. Much appreciated! They make some for subarus which I figured is similar to our msps at: http://www.abwmotorsport.co.uk/#!product/prd1/4442012711/newage-ducktail-spoiler

I spent all weekend doing it, but I finally have the "base" for my 3" exhaust.

I only had 1 Vband to play with so it went basically where the old flange by the muffler went.

When I get a catalytic converter for inspection purposes, I will cut this pipe and weld in another vband for the cat.. Then I'll have a vband test pipe / cat situation.

I couldn't get the downstream o2 sensor out of the old exhaust, so I ordered a new one. I didn't even weld my bungs in.. ran out of time. But like I said.. the "base" of this exhaust is done, it just needs some tweaks

I think it came out pretty clean. Its loud as hell.....

How well did it clear the axle back and the turns for the 3 inch exhaust gets a little tight.

I've got about 3/4" in any direction in the axle area. It is tight in there, but I spent a lot of time on it. If you rush, i could see that being a problem area, for sure. It sounds like the hangers are holding it properly though. I haven't heard any banging around back there.. which is RARE for us.. lmfao

I just ordered some poly adjustable hangers for my custom 3 in exhaust it would probably make contact on normal rubber hangers

All I ended up doing was cutting the stock hangers off as close to the stock muffler as close as possible. I took the cut-off hangers and bushings and hung them by themselves. I held the muffler in place with a jack and duct tape and with a little trimming and minor fabricating to the hangers, I was able to arrange them to meet the new muffler and the pipe leading up to it. I put a tiny amount of tension on the rubber bushings while I tack welded to account for the weight of everything. I'm really surprised I didn't have any issues, I lowered the jack and it hasn't needed any tweeking at all. I wish my front mount install went that well. I'm still not done fussing over it.

alright.. this year i app owe the gov even though they signed off on last years tax information and send me a cheque.. then 7 months later decide to just change their mind and have the balls to charge INTEREST.. fuckers. Im on the fence about selling the p5 and going back to the near stock msp but ill try to dodge that as long as possible. atm im gonna put the car modding thing on massive hold though as its just not that important to me atm. I have a pope Manifold that has been in use since june and a never installed pope downpipe if anyone wants these parts.

Maybe $500 for the manifold and $375 for the never used down pipe. I have to pull the manifold and I waited a year to even get it lol. I'll regret selling it I think but I don't have the income to support full scale hobbies.

I am semi flexible but shipping costs more for me. If I had to guesstimate I'll be spending a minimum $40-$50 to ship each part. So above would be shipped price.

I'd be interested but it's gonna take some time. I understand it's first come first serve for the mani though. I'll keep you posted.

In my project budget planning for 2016, I finished putting together a list of short term to-do's for the MSP. $2,500 and that doesn't involve a built motor, ouch. Mind you this is my DD which just crested 185k on stock everything (Block/Trans/Clutch/Diff/Turbo/Etc.) What say you? Are my "wants" a waste of money at this age? The DP seems like a no-brainer while I have everything out of the car and the notorious hesitation "significantly impacts" the fun-factor of this being a daily driver. A built block isn't in the cards at the moment; if she pops, it will likely get a used block to get her by.

Needs
$75 Cylinder Head
$100 Gasket kit
$40 Water pump
$120 Timing Belt Kit
$25 Head Bolts
$10 Thermostat
$600 Pope Exhaust Manifold
$100 Exhaust Gaskets
$120 Clutch
$1,190 Total

Wants
$375 Pope Downpipe
$350 Innovate 3892 PSB-1
$370 AEM FIC 30-1910
$245 AEM Patch Harness, 30-2980
$1,340 Total
$2,530 Needs+Wants

I just bought a 300 Dollar rebuild kit. Includes pistons, pins, rings, bearings from kings. Water and oil pump. Timing kit and gasket set. Gasket set includes valve stem seals as well.

Sounds like quite the deal, $300 for all of that? I'm not sure I have a need for the pistons, pins, rings and bearings...if I break into the bottom end, I'll likely strengthen it with forged components. Thanks for the feedback!

You can save $100 on a used pope manifold... Ahem...

The only thing I'd add are the coolant hoses.. I mean, If you are gonna do the water pump and thermostat.. Mine were getting crappy when I did my full tune up at 151K.. so it's something you may wanna consider. IDK thats just me. I replaced every coolant/heater line with a pack of Samco hoses I got from a member on the facebook pages

That's a good point, did your Samco pack include heater core hoses? Were your silicone hoses degraded? IIRC, the hoses near the turbo are silicone already from the factory. I'll toss those on the list, much easier to get to with the head/intake off.

Question. When I had my turbo out it was stamped with m24 labels. Could I buy another m24 turbo and swap my housings? Trying to find something with better seals as she smokes in the morning now like. A lot.
