Yes its a good idea, KLZE is 200 hp stock + turbo at 8-9psi and you're closer to 300 hp, 10-12 psi and you get over 300 wheel. The ZE valve springs are weak and the higher compression bottom end doesn't like a ton of boost. The better KL engine uses a DE bottom end, DE valve springs, ZE heads, ZE cams, and ZE intake manifold. It likes boost a lot and breathes really well.
I've done it and it was fun, BUT
My current car will be MUCH simpler, lighter, easier to work on, it will run better in all weather conditions, it will require very little fiddling, and it will make just as much power at a fraction of the time, energy, and cost.
If you want a project go for it, if you want a fun car that you can more confidently use optimize the FS. 300 whp on the FS doesn't cost any more than 300 whp on a KL and you avoid all the added work of a swap.
