What have you done to your MSP today?

I didn't think it would happen but this past Monday I got a job being a Mazda technician at Mazda South. I am working with another mechanic learning the ropes at the moment but I am loving it so far. I was shown the collection of the owners cars including the first Eunos Cosmo I have ever seen, I had no idea Mazda built a three rotor twin turbo car with navigation, TV, and digital climate control and it's a '91! Also has a '90 Miata with 100 miles, an MSM, a speed6, a gen 1 and gen 2 speed3, an RX-3, an FC RX-7 vert, the very LAST FD RX-7 imported to the US, the very last RX-8 imported to the US AND (my favorite) a Spicy MSP with 10k miles.

got a bunch of new car care products in today so i decided to give the msp a bath and wax. looks pretty good right now, but im sure some bird will have pooped on it by the time i wake up in the morning. i hate having to park under a tree.

The engine I pulled I parted it out and lifted the short block with the tranny out the top... I dropped the entire new engine and tranny from the top... I just have 2 floor jacks and a jack ;)... Fun fun with no space or I mean little space...

I always take my engines/transmissions out from the bottom because I always do mine alone. So, when it's on a lift, I support them with 4x4 blocks of wood, make sure everything is clear (lines, connectors, hoses) then raise the car and it's out. I do the same thing putting them back in. A few years ago I made the mistake of performing the removal of a Type-II 3.2 out of my Legend GS by AllData's instructions, which said to remove by pulling it from the top- I spent 3 hours trying, then said "**** it, I'm doing it my way" and had it out in 45 minutes.

I'm currently running 11.5psi........... Any thoughts? Other than "boom"?

I've always pulled the motor and trans out of the top. Piece of cake.

And today I'm getting a set of front hawk hps pads brand new for $15 from my brothers work. Gonna save them till I get matching rears, new rotors, and ss lines

Have you ever done it on a lift?

No sir. I'm a guy who works on his cars in the yard. Always done it with jackstands and a cherry picker.
Doint it by yourself in a shop with a lift, it's a lot easier coming out through the under side. BTW are you going to be there this weekend?

I also never use air tools.....

And sadly no. My tires are s***. So I don't wanna push it. Gonna go to atl for import alliance instead.

I remember the days when I'd do everything in a driveway with hand tools... No more.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Boom!

Seriously though I ran at 11psi for about 3 years with no issues and I drive in boost all the time. I was always scared that it would blow up though. I would set it to 10, not that much of a performance difference but it would make me feel better.

ya air tools would be bomb instead i bought a 5ft iron pipe at lowes as a cheater bar... but last night i put the axles back in with the seals.. bled the clutch.. started the car.. ran for 5m then when i tapped the gas.. i heard a loud pop and car died.. now engine wont start up... damn this car... or me for trying to do it myself...

You want to know what I've been running for the past 100 miles? 12.5psi and I spiked to 14psi... LOL I've got an extra motor, but it's for a build that has yet to be done... I'm running 11.2 AFRs at 4k-5.5k, then drops back down to 10.4 after that. I'm turning the boost down later today, but DAMN I wish I could safely run it that way because it pulls like a motherfucker in 5th gear.
