Hey guys, If I wanted to trade my Greddy SP2 exhaust system for the factory MSP one, should I ask for cash also or the value is the same for them both? Getting pissed off here by the cops lately and don't want to keep going to court to have my ticket removed...

What.. the sp2 is pretty damn quite if your not on it! I have it and love it. Also no issues with the cops here but im obviously not in pureto rico

Edit: Id ask for the stock exhaust and cash for the greddy but thats just me. You could also just put on a reg pro axel back. You wont get the tip or the sound of the stock one. If your in a pinch.

missed this post, I'll get an answer for you asap

It's fine if they need to be sent out, I would just like to know ahead of time, so I'm not expecting to get them and install them right away. I figure this is going to be a few month project, so no rush for me.

i went to put my car into reverse to back out of the garage so i can go get an alignement... once i went into reverse... the car stalled.. now the shifter is stuck in reverse and with me laying on the brakes and ebrake the car want to still drive in reverse with the car off and battery unplugged i still cant move the shifter out of reverse... ideas?

have you tried pumping the clutch a bit and then try to mvoe it out of gear? check for stress cracks on the brake fluid cap and of course check the fluid lvl.

fluid level is full and i tried pumping the clutch some more... still stuck, i even try forcing the shifter with the car off and its not disengaging.

Do you have the clutch installed properly? Either the slave cylinder is giving problems or the clutch is not acting properly.

id have someone else push in clutch and look to see if the slave is even engaging. If it is then i would just take a wild guess and say you might have a 5th/reverse gear shift fork problem.

after and hour break to clear my head went back into the car and the gears were normal... but the clutch pedal was super loose again.. guessing i still had a rather large air bubble in the system when i though i had bled it alrdy.. so back to bleeding the system again.... had me nervous about that 5th/reverse forks.. meaning i woulda had to take that tranny back out ;/

Why did you break the clutch line when changing the engine? You can unbolt the slave cyl and lay it off to the side.

because hes not a pro =) only pros like me and you do that lol. Side note got my mishimoto rad and my adapters for my 2871 in today. shouldn't be long before the car is running again.

I understand completely. I have been working on cars every summer for my father for about 12 years so while I am better than most of my friends at working on cars I still do some things backwards such as removing things that Dad wouldnt have or going about things differently. I think it is awesome that you gave it the effort and did the engine change yourself. That is really cool to me, showing me that you are at least trying to get smarter and understand how your car works so I give you two big thumbs up.

Did you bring your engine and tranny out the top of the car or the bottom? when I changed the engine in the protege I just bought I let everything go out the bottom. I was doing it on a lift though and we have a roll around car that a skid fits on so I just lower the car down to the skid, place blocks around the engine and tranny so it wont shift and then just raise the car up and away from the engine and tranny. Then I pick it up with a cherry picker and un marry the tranny and engine on the floor. I then reverse the steps to go back in the car. I didnt think there would be enough room to get the engine and tranny out of the car from the top since I left the manifolds and turbo on the car.

I think what I would do if I was bleeding the clutch I would fill the reservoir up and then get a water bottle and fill it up also and quickly turn the water bottle up inside the reservoir, then crack the line down at the slave cyl and let all the bottle run out and then tighten it back up. Again I have not looked at our cars to see if this would work, but that is how I do breaks when I am bleeding them and it seems to make it a lot easier.
