What have you done to your MSP today?

If I could do it all over, I would have went Haltech. Buy from a retailer out of Tejas, get it prewired for the MSP on an AEM jumper harness, wire in a couple sensors, and you're done.

that's what I'm in the process of doing, got the unit alot cheaper on ebay though. He wired it up to be more of a piggy back though

He we go

Haltech controls fuel and ignition independently. It has full control over injector duty cycle and ignition advance and retard.
The recommended way to wire in the Haltech is to run it in parallel with the stock PCM/ECU so it can control the factory emissions equipment and make your tuning sessions go by faster and save you money on tuning and on the dyno.
It is not a PIGGYBACK. Piggybacking means it intercepts the stock PCM/ECU signals and modifies them.
Haltech or any other programmable ECU send its own signals to fire the fuel injectors and coils.

piggyback was the wrong term but not quite standalone

It's called a parrallel system. It runs in parrallel of your stock ECU, letting it control HVAC, Lights, etc, while it takes care of everything engine related. A true full-standalone would control everything, and your lights, etc. would be hard wired with switches.

Werd. It is most commonly called a standalone because they are capable of such if desired. I have the AEM EMS-4 in my partout thread which is setup exactly like these guys are saying. The MSP is my daily and so I wanted something better than a piggyback with the ability to remove it quickly for inspection purposes.

i have a mpi piggy back with the extra injectors if some one wants it.. $100 shipped. its just sitting in a box in my shed since a wrecked my baby

How much would this cost do you think? I think the reason why I want to sell my car is because of the tune. I hate it, I have the SS AFC V1 but it just doesnt seem right. Like you said its really hickupy.

Crossover has the Sprint 500 all set up for $1515 + shipping.

edit: that's the full plug and play setup ^^

I got quoted around $2k for a Platinum 2000 plug n play. Altogether by the time you work in the time and everything with me switching between systems I would have been better off buying the Haltech in the beggining. I sold the Unichip, the SSAFC, and my second Microtech unit, but I lost some of the money in the resale of each. Hindsight is 20/20.

Also, should have just kept my first J&S as well. Not that I'm not happy with the new system, it's just the older one worked just the same, and I lost money on that sale too. I wouldn't have wasted my money on a turbo timer either.

Oh no, you're selling the ems-4?? I was hoping you would be rocking it with a killer tune by now. I'm still upset I never got to tune with the AEM because its a much better full standalone than the e6x I used, however, my msp ran perfectly with my haltech after a ton of street tuning...hahaaha and I cant even begin to think how well it would have run with the aem..oh well. Good luck selling the ems4 but honestly I hope you end up tuning with it ;)

Yea, I'm extremely disappointed that I don't have it tuned either. I like the MSP but I think it is finally time to move on and get something new. Hopefully SOMEBODY will be able to enjoy this unit lol.

how many hours of tuning on a dyno did it take you to get to your current tune? :D

Got code p0660 today. Isn't that vics related? Never had such a code and I've been running a 626 I'M for 3 years...
