What have you done to your MSP today?

if it lights up, the ballast is fine.

Well Everthing works, except driver side Hi beam, if i switch bulbs it does the same, driver to passeger, HI/lo beam works perfect in passenger side but driver it doesnt... my has dual HID Bulbs, not the cheesy ones that the hi beam is just a regular bulb.. but i hate that hi beam on my side is not turning on. I believe my kit have dual ballast as well

finally recleared my 30 dollar CF hood, still not fully done though.

still need to wet sand it down a lil and buff it, also painted the grill pieces black and bronze.

So I really like the 03.5 shift knob but I don't think I can take the crazy hot / cold temperatures every day. Anybody want to post suggestions for a good replacement that is similar size, doesn't get extremely hot / cold, and can be had for ~$70 or less? I'm not really sure what style I want so I just want some ideas right now.

So are all aftermarket shift knobs universal or are some threaded specifically for certain cars? I know Cobb is a very good brand for MS3's but would their shift knobs work for an MSP? Sorry I am noob.

i think they would, i know the protege/msp are the same thread as a regular 3, not sure if the speed3 is the same a 3 though.

just dont get a shift knob that has the plastic inserts for the thread, they work good at first but then become flimsy and loose.

Yea that reminds me, I heard there was a certain brand that was known for stripping the threads on the shifter?

I have had my grandma crochet me two shift knob covers for mine to deal with the cold and heat. It works out rather well and doesnt look to bad.

I agree those are a cool idea, but I would rather get a knob that doesn't require something like that. I'm checking out some Sparco's now and the prices are actually lower on COA than sparco's site. Thoughts on these?

Am I the only one who doesn't get affected by the MSP shift knob? Apparently you all have sensitive hands and use too much "moisturizer"

Oh and I got sent 4-lug 15mm spacers... UGH!!!!!

Am I the only one who doesn't get affected by the "flushness" OCD that everybody seems to have?

It is a real b**** to use on really cold or hot days...seriously annoying.

cold days dont bug me but hot days......i have a bandanna wrapped around my shifter i cover the knob up when its gonna be in the sun for a while.

and i changed my oil on Friday. much needed

Seriously, though... This is my second summer with the car and I've yet to be burned by it. I think you all need to man-up... LOL

the cold bugs me more than the hot. Wagon made his own with a screwdriver handle and i've seen some with pool balls.

me neither, if the windows are tinted and you put a reflective windshield cover up when you are parked you're fine. My hands dont get burned and in the winder i stick a wool sock over my shift knob if it gets really cold out. if it gets too hot for people cover it with something, a hat, a sock, an old t-shirt, anything to keep the suns rays from hitting it

Here's the one I switched to; it was a "new old stock" part made for the Mitsubishi 3000GT. It weighs a lot more than the stocker and has Nardi leather so its really comfortable to grip. It has the right thread for the MSP and the threads start way up inside the knob like the MSP knob so it sits way down on the shifter. Kind of an old school look I guess, but I'm lovin it.
