Lol at you guys bashing rotas...you know why everybody jump on the "I hate rota" band wagon? Its because somebody spent entirely too much money on a name that's on the sticker of a wheel spoke and saw somebody else rocking the same wheel for a fraction of the price. I love my sub zero's and have had zero issues with them. Those pictures of destroyed rota's floating are mostly the owners fault would be my guess last time I checked most wheels don't like being slammed into imoveable objects.

not entirely true, just takes more work to go wider... possible fender rolling etc. and given that this is the highest HP street MSP I know to exist, I think he should also have the most rubber on the ground... only makes sense to me.
I didn't mean it wasnt possible, just that I can't recall anyone doing it before so there must be a reason but yes, for the hp numbers, def need some fattie rubber going on.

I have no rubbing issues in my car, even with 4 people on the back and one passenger and hard cornering i dont experience any rubbing, i have plenty of space to put spacers, and i dont mind rolling the fenders to bring the wheels up closer to the fender. i just dont know how thick i can go, and since i have no time to go see my car at the shop i was wondering since im not the only one running 8 inch wheels in here thought any of you guys could help me out with some spacers thickness you know..
I would love to run 225 or 235 tires but what am i going to do with the 12 new tires i currently own you know ? the 4 the car already have installed and the 8 new i have in my garage..

+1.... the problem isn't the wheel; its the tire sidewall being pulled out so much . Too much rim exposed on the wheel. Just get a wider tire.

Now that you mention it the reason rota became as popular as it did in the first place was the subaru crowd, they produced the sti bbs in a 5x100 (sti lug pattern is 5x114.3) so it would go on the wrx

I'm hoping to go up to an 8" wide wheel running a 225 tire. My total offset when all is said and done should be about 42-48 (I may stagger if I have to). I'm doing that for optimum clearance (least chance of rubbing)... so you may want to shoot for 40-45ish... so take your current offset, subtract that for your spacer size. like I said, I don't know without seeing and/or measuring in person how one would exactly determine this.

I think if these get spaced out its going to be leaning on the "hellaflush" (*shudder*, I said it) look... which I think is rediculous for a car at this level of performance.

Ill try to source a picture of the front wheels, youll be surprise how much space i have to bring them flush to the fenders.... i have no idea how to find out the offset of these RX-8 wheels you guy should know more about me on this.
