What have you done to your MSP today?

they do get hot, we have small radiators. Anyone know the size of paper cone filter that fits right onto the maf? I want to get a cheap cone filter to put on my sri so i can still drive the msp while i am cleaning and drying my foam air filter. BTW would a dirty air filter lead to less than optimal performance? (slow building boost, and just not running as good?) I havent cleaned it since september or maybe earlier like last summer.

2.75" yes, but I dare say not noticably so.

Threw the race tires in the MSP last night so I don't have to do it this afternoon. Finger Lakes National Tour this weekend. I'll be taking on the 2nd and 12th place guys from the championship in 2008. Wish me luck, I'll need it.

how about a dirty maf?

A maf could but also a maf coated in filter oil could as well. Btw most cleanable cone filters should need to be cleaned for at least 25k miles unless they are in a super dirty section of the car. Also oddly enough having dirt stuck in them makes them filter the air better.

Just changed oil, i dont oil my filter cause it is the foam filter. I will try cleaning the maf, it just seems like sometimes it takes awhile to reach boost and then when I do it cuts out a little bit.

i'd start with plugs and wires if they haven't been done in the last year... even if they're not the problem, it won't hurt.

tranny change today

was gettin ready to change tranny fluid today. Car has 42k and I just bought it back in mid feb. Don't know if it's been changed before or not? I think I'm going to go with RP MTF syncromex. Hope I'm not starting any wars by askin this Question, but any info would help. I've read several treads on the subject and keep coming back to the RP. Thanks

Redline MT90 seems to be a fav around here. I actually just changed mine with mobil 1 75w90 and my 2nd gear is now a little touchy/notchy. I'm not happy about it. Thus, I may be redoing the trans fluid soon because of that. Damn waste of $25 :D

Anyone else use mobil 1 gear oil?

I'll check that and will also check mani to see if it is cracked, possibly a vac leak

well.. could your issue be a WGA?? it's a possibility.. if that's the case..lmk i just did mine.

edit- that was one of the things i said..rofl. vac.

+1 on the wastegate & Vac lines.... I changed out the wastegate and replaced vac lines and the difference was night & day. MUCH quicker to spool. Also check seals at hot & cold pipes...

Seems like alot of Msp'rs use redline. But I read in a tread that it was for racing and needed to be changed often. Then the penz/lucus mix,GM syncro, but I've heard pros and cons to all the above. But only good things bout RP
