What have you done to your MSP today?

hey I got a quick question for you guys before I break somethin this weekend, probably a bone... But do you guys know the easiest way to remove the CV shaft from the tranny?

Unbolt the hub bolts to the strut and with the hub still attached to the axle use the weight of the hub to jolt it out. Sometime I have to use my feet to get a bit more force on the back of the hub :)

^i was gonna ask that. if the passenger side we un bolted the halfshaft from the block and took the whole piece out.

^yes it does. its just you may need a breaker bar to break the bolts loose. at least get some pb blaster or something

and since he's probably doing both... someone wanna fill us in on the trick for the driver's?

pry bar basically. if you yank on it with the hub attached your going to eventually damage the inner cv joint. just slide a medium pry bar or long screw driver in near the trans and pry it will eventually pop out. As for reinserting it the easiest way is to take wheel bearing grease or some other heavy grease and smear it in the open end of the axle clip, this will hold the open end against the splines. Insert the shaft and jab it in a couple time and it should lock into place no problem.

I know chances of you having one handy aren't great, but if someone put a pic of that up it would prb help a LOT of guys out.
