ordered a spec clutch stage 1+ and flywheel from protegegarage (thanks Ken) and today ordered new royal purple gear oil! whoot whoot cant wait

hooked up my ss afc and then it ran like shyt and no1 is helping me figure it out.

We drove it yesterday for the first time in months. I think I overfilled the coolant overflow tank because after I parked it when we got to my inlaws it started spewing coolant from the tank. Engine temp was fine and when the car cooled the level went back down....Drove it again today and it didnt overflow.

Hopefully thats all it was but its about time to flush the radiator and might as well replace the thermostat. Where do you guys usually buy yours?

Also, noticed some lovely oil residue coming from the valve cover. Is basic maintenance to tighten the bolts on the valve cover? Anyone know the amt of torque they should be tightened too?

not usually to tighten. all mine that have leaked were bad gaskets. the amt is in the inch pounts, like 20 or so, i have to look it up. its not alot cause the head will strip easy. its in the protege shop manual if u have it. if not i can check when i get home from work.

i remember them costing under 20 from auto stores.

i dont understand why so many ppl in the past have disliked the quality and workmanship on this unit. it is very well made.

Its a bushing related to the shifter linkage. Its a self lubricating metal. I think its somehow infused with oil during manufacturing so it stays lubricated as it wears.
