What have you done to your MSP today?

yea, the tension tool is a nice thing to have....but I've replaced the belts god knows how many times in the past on a lot of different cars and it is possible to eyeball it without using the tension tool *shrugs*

alright, thx for the info

always been told to tighten it enough to where you can twist the belt only +/- 90 degrees either way

Well I got my P5 back last night and I already have a CEL - P0171 no doubt. I don't get it, the BOV doesn't leak and yet my idle is jumping around. With the Boost Sciences RDV venting to the atmostphere everything was fine but now with the HKS the idle is stumbling again. Both don't leak, both were setup VTA and yet only one screws up. I don't get it!

well why i was conimplating things at work today and i figured this. The egr needs to see air to keep from poppin a cel right. and with the breather filter on its just pullin in air leanin your idle out and popin a lean idle code. So i figure why not give it some air thats allready been meterd be the maf so you dont throw a code so that leaves me with A.) tap your cold pipe and run a line ot the egr tube after the maf or B.) just run a vacume source to it not i don't know if be would work but im pretty sure a will

The revised EGR valves do have a vacuum port.

Well I just went down and checked just about every vacuum line. The BOV holds vacuum as do all other vacuum lines I could check. I can't find any leaks and I can't imagine anything else has seriously changed since last week when everything was working just fine. The only thing I haven't checked is the exhaust but I'll do that tomorrow morning before I leave.

On another bad note, I randomly tested my wastegate actuator and sure enough - it's shot. Now, its vacuum source is right off the turbo so a leak there wouldn't cause a problem. It does suck however because the ATP wastegate actuator is only 1 year old and it's already dead. This would explain why I randomly hit 14 psi a while back. Damn...

time to go with the forge

There are 2 actually. The canadian version has the vac source. The american one doesnt. Jason Baggie can get the american version of it for you. He also said that a lot of is customers swear by it.

nothings wrong with my egr im just trying to figure out a way to delete it without getting a lean idle code

Well damn, if I'd known they went bad this quickly I would have gone with a Forge wastegate in the first place. I still have the stocker lying around so perhaps I'll pressure test that and use it if it's still good. It'd only be temporary as I trust that one even less.

I still need to figure out why my idle is crappy though. I think I'm going to buy one of those intake testors from siliconeintakes.
