What have you done to your MSP today?

very nice, that's the next toy I'm getting ( Quaife LSD )... post some recent pictures of your car, i sure like it alot... any work done recently Lara ? what finals numbers you are putting down ?

Nothing but repair work. But the newest thing I'm putting on is the Quaife and getting my MAM manifold re-coated black. I don't like alot of bling. I spend most of my money on my engine and performance mods instead of body work inside and out. The only thing I've splurged on was my Erebuni dual vented hood. I lost my Erebuni eyelids in an accident and I don't know when I'll get another pair.

I should get my car back in a week or so. Next year, I'll be getting stronger 3rd and 4th gears and a big break kit. Then I can up the boost. Right now I have a conservative tune, so with the gt 28rs and 15 lbs, I have 285whp and 296 ft lbs of tq (according to my last dynojet run). But since our cars have weaker gears at higher hp, it would be a good idea to replace my gears before I get a more agressive tune with more hp - especially if it goes back on a dyno. I've heard of one or two msp's that've broken 3rd gear, just from a dyno run.

And right now I have alot of torque steer and can't always keep the wheels to the floor. So first things first... keeping more hp to the floor and not having to worry about a broken stock LSD.... so Imma getin' a new IMPROVED one. :D

you must have lots of money.

As far as money... I just try to save as much as I can on the side to get my parts. Some people get theirs in a matter of months, I've gotten mine in the course of years. It's hard to save, but I have a good job, don't shop like most women and can do without a lot of little needs.. just so I can get my car parts. So no beer or party fund, no help from mom and dad (too old for that) and no real vacations. But damn if I don't try to enjoy all the money I've dumped into my little headache of a MSP by taking it for a drive. Not to mention the respect I get from other car enthusiasts. Especially when they don't own a Mazda, but get beat by one. It's just priceless.

Well I can finally say, I've got a new part on my MSP. Today (mere hours ago) AMaff (mostly) and myself installed some gently used Tokico Illuminas on my MSP. They are nice but now I have some questions to anyone who might have these on. What settings do you use (on stock springs for now) and does anyone have a passenger side front endlink? Sadly AMaff had to chop mine in half. I am deperate. (well not really, I can just go to the Mazda stealership).

I'm riding on Progress springs .. I have my front Illuminas set to "4" and my rear set to "3" for daily driving.

No endlink, though .. Honestly, your best bet for getting one ASAP is probably calling your dealer. One's gonna be about $40, though. Sucks. :(

Thanks. I am hoping to have many more mods in the very near future. It was a blast. Good thing I kept the back deck lid off then (it sits right next to me on the floor resting against the sofa) so I can adjust them. I can't truly understand the difference the Illuminas made until I am set back up as it was. So, this weekend hopefully.

^^^ I was going to say that the first thing you'll notice is that the car will sit more 'evenly' .. but if you're using stock springs, I think the rear might wind up being a bit lower. The stock struts sit higher in the rear, which is why people who put lowering springs on the original struts always notice a rake. But in your case, stock springs on aftermarket struts -- my guess is the back will wind up lower than the front now. Make sure to let me know what winds up happening, now I'm curious! :)

Yeah, AMaff said that exact thing. He said expect the back to be a little lower. Which is fine... for now. What springs do you all suggest? I am looking for a little bit cheaper (cost) than normal but still performance. We're not talking AutoX performance (necessarily) but nice. Or someone selling used coil overs?

Finally i found some time and did:

SLS Performance Rev. 2 Passenger Side Motor Mount along with the Weapon R Engine Damper, the car feels very very nice, no vibration inside the car, also felt stronger and stiffer at WOT so far i like it. The OEM motor mount was wasted, broken. i still need to do my AWR Transmission Mount, by the way Thanks Ken PG....

glad you are happy with the engine damper, ive been looking into that as well, how hard was the install?

Enjoyed some twisties!

I drove over both Mt St Helens as well as Mt Ranier. My new toy made it even more fun. Check it out! Chassis Stiffening is great!

2 minutes install, as simple as that. these thing really help the engine to stay in place and help and adsorb most of the engine vibration due to stiff MMs. i highly recommend these to anybody. it does work, it does help and is worth every single penny..

Well I just Finished doing my Corksport 52mm Aluminum Radiator with Spal Slim Line Dual 13" Hi Performance Radiator Fans. everything looks so OEM, i have no space to do anything else, everything came up nice and clean, no rubbing or touching the fans against the turbo or filter. Let me know what you guys think.

Very nice radiator.

This weekend I bought some very very used Protege struts and springs to begin my SCCA stock class legal Koni insert project.
