What have you done to your MSP today?

i get 32mpg on the highway

i keep seeing in different posts that people are getting 350-400 miles per tank, what is the average people here are getting? i might be lucky to get 320, for some reason even with the gas light on if i go to fill up the pump cuts off before 14 gallons, any ideas why this would be happening? or how to get better mileage. oh and it is a daily driver with only an aftermarket air intake so far which did improve the mileage slightly

i get about 320 per tank, the reason you cant put 14 gallons in your tank is because your tank is not empty, if the tank was bone dry you could get 14 gallons in it. i have put close to 12 gallons of gas in my tank before and i didnt think i was going to make it to the gas station lol.

EDIT* oh and a way to get better gas mileage is keep your foot out off the throttle!!! haha

i have no ems and my msp gets better gas mileage than our P5 lol

EMS is just an acronym for Engine Management System.

Around here anything that alters the engine via a computer or installed box is an EMS.

So the AFC is an EMS at mazdas247.com.

ah, so the $300 is worth it? i heard that it doesnt make sense to have an ems if you have a daily driver and were not going to do super modifications

The only way you'll see the max potential from performance parts is if you tune for them. Car's with BPU's or ones built for racing will all benefit from a customizable EMS. Shoot if the MSP ecu was as programmable as STi's/Evo's I just might have stuck with it.

Excellent Exhaust. I have it. Make sure you have inserts or motor mounts. Or it will crack as theres no flex section.

Last night i was driving home from work. We work in the south end so its a tad bit ghetto. So i dont drive the MSP there cause itll get broken into. So we have a 02 Beetle.

On the way home, 3 kids were driving in a primered eclipse (non turbo, stock exhaust), and started pointed and laughing. I just wish i had my car, its not the fastest but damnit i woulda put a whippin on them.

I know they were trying to mock me for driving a bug, but its a nice lil car. However i had to take the "I love my poodle" window cling down that my wife had on there, it was too much.
