What have you done to your MSP today?

thanks! ill try it! it sux because i just bought the gauge and bezel from someone on here for 150bucks and ill be pissed if its broke!

Car off: 0 vac.
Idle: 20-22 vac.
Decelerating in gear: 22-26ish vac (to answer you: yes, that's normal)

full boost SHOULD be somewhere close to 6-6.5psi, but i have heard of some getting as low as 4. Pretty sure that's not normal though.

get in third gear, about 35-40mph, put the gas on the floor. The needle should jump VERY quickly to 0vac, then pause and start building boost. If it jumps to 3vac and pauses i should think you've got an issue. There's one quick test. But it should def. be 0 vac when turned off.

If you call the company that made the gauge, i would think that they will either re-calibrate it or replace it, no questions asked. try that if you think it's off. But check the line for any bends, kinks, or leaks. I super-glued the hose connection into the T and into the guage so it was sealed 100%; and my line is hard plastic/vinyl so it can't bend very easily (no kinks).

its broken if it reads anything other than zero while its off.

anyways today for my msp....i looked at it as i drove off to work in my dads sti.

Thinking of getting rid of it after driving the sti?

not at all, i love my msp and all its rareness. plus i havent even come close to what id like to achieve with it. whenever this engine blows (im suprised its made it this far) ill get a forged motor and should finally be really happy w/the car.

Thats cool. Glad to hear it. I love my car, I'm just scared of something going wrong that I can't afford to fix in a timely manner. I had to money to get the tranny and engine work done but other priorities have come up right now. So in time if everything holds together until then I'll be good to go. I'm getting my lsd welded and a built bottom end with all the bolts ons. I plan on running just 12 psi daily. So I'll just have a reliable/rare/decently fast daily driver.

finished re-badging the trunk, and did a full wash after it was covered in mud from rallying (only to turn on the news saying tejas is about to get dominated by tropical storm erin, bleh).

Also payed for an ApexR1 catless 3" and a set of p5 head lights for a headlight conversion :) Come next week i am going to be quite happy.

I also decided to check my plugs since these were put in when I got the new motor.. I was expecting something cheap, but to my surprise they were NGK's.. Although the gap on them was set at .045".. I lowered the gap to somewhere around .030" and .032".. Hopefully its runs a little better when I get it back running.. Im probably just going to go with some 2step colder plugs once I get it ready to run again..

looked at my msp again as i left for work in the sti...again(lol2) dont worry im not losing interest in the msp or anything. one of my coworkers wanted a ride in it but we didnt have the chance after work yesterday so i took it to work again today. needless to say hes changed his mind from getting a tacoma to seriously thinking about a wrx. he has about 18k to spend, what do ya think? im certain sure he could find a pretty good 04-05 or a really low mileage bug eye'd for that price.

Finally drove the car after almost two weeks. I drove it yesterday and it was at 16-20 vac and today I drove it and it would go between 18 and 22. It's wierd but it does that after I don't drive it for a while. The idle was a little crazy too but it gets better the longer I drive. I need to do a tune up and start driving it on a regular basis again.

CHecker her out today after she got water up to her bumpers.....rained pretty bad down here from the tropical depression.

I think that a wrx is the way to go over the sti. My friend has an 02 wrx with a few bolt ons and a cobb reflash. He pulls on stis like no ones business and he definitely under the cost of an sti. Sometimes I wish I could have found an 02 wrx when I was looking for a car. Those are the best models in my opinion.
