I haven't done anything today YET.... I installed a Forge Dual Stage BOV last week and later tonight I will be installing a Weapon R Secret SRI with a ram air kit to bring up some cooler air. Anyone out there use a Weapon R? I know people like to knock on em' but after I got it in the mail the other day... I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent packaging and product branding on all their parts. Heard a rumor that a guy who had this for a couple years had a piece of foam from the filter get sucked into the turdbo!! (sad1) I plan on using an AEM Dry filter instead to avoid issues. None the less looks like a decent product.
Hopefully early next week I will be installing my boost gauge. I have to run down to Corksport when the pod comes in. I wanted to do it today aswell, but no such lucky with no pod. (dance)

Need Help!
Since I can't create a new thread for some reason, I'll post it here for now:
Tonight on the way home from a co-workers house, my car decided it didn't want to run properly anymore. I was in 4th gear, at about 3k. I punched it and the car started to pull, and then immediately bogged. Nothing out of the ordinary, or so I thought. I got off the gas and tried to give it partial throttle, and the car just bogged/sputtered, and then died... I started the car back up, while coasting down the road. I pulled into the gas station as the car stalled again. Parked, I started the car and then it idled rough, and then died.
I have no check engine light, no holes in my block, no oil on the ground, oil level is fine, coolant level is fine, the car is getting fuel and spark. The intercooler pipes are intact, have no holes in them, and are tightened down 100%. Nothing is loose or disconnected in the engine bay.
I let the car cool down for 20mins while I wait for my buddy to come pick me up/ give me a hand. When he arrives, I start the car back up, and it does what it did before: Rough idle for a few seconds, and then dies. So I start the car back up again, and slowly give it gas. I was able to slowly throttle the car, and keep it running at any RPM. I rev'ed it up to 3K and just kept it there for 30seconds. Then I went back down to 2500RPMS and kept it there, and then went up to 4k RPMS and kept it there as well. Once I let off the throttle, the car dropped to idle, started running rough, and then died. So, I started the car and immediately gave it gas. I started doing what I was doing before, and slowly brought the car up to 3k RPMS. Then, I decided to try to give it heavy throttle. The second I did that, the car immediately bogged/ hesitated and died. I tired this several times, and each time I had the same results.
To me, it seems that the car will run fine at any constant RPM, under zero load or full vacuum. The second I tried to bring the car to zero vac, it would hesitate, start bogging, and then die. It's almost as if it senses the car is getting close to boost, and simply dies. What doesn't make sense, is that the car still idles rough and dies at idle, where vacuum is usually the strongest.
My first thought is that the turbo or wastegate has failed. This would kind of explain why I would be able to slowly bring the car up to a certain RPM, but the second I close vacuum or start building boost, the car goes haywire.
My next thought is that the MAF is bad.
My third and final thought is that the MAP sensor may be bad, but everything I have found on this forum says that I should have thrown a CEL if that were the case.
I have no CEL what-so-ever. My mods are a catless midpipe and 626 manifold, that is it. I am in the process of going back to stock.....

fixed my exhaust leak. if anyones wondering, the stock s to j pipe gasket works well on the corksport s and j and isnt really much smaller in diameter.
also, incase anyones wondering. corksport front and rear inserts w/ awr side inserts > all. hardly vibrating but i can feel how solid it is. this setup shakes LESS than my front awr 70 mount i had. i dont feel its a race worthy setup but for everyone else, try it youll love it.

well, you said they were tightened and un-holey, but that is EXACTLY what my car did when i popped a coupler loose from my IC piping...
i feel like it could be something to do with the maf being messed up because if you're on the gas then the engine is mechanically sucking air in and it won't matter THAT much if it's not measured properly, it'll just go to default and maybe be a little rich; then when turbo time comes, it'll **** up. At idle, there's not enough "suck" if you know what i mean, so it'll die.
Also, if the turbo failed, i should think that it just wouldn't boost anything, but it would still run ok because the air would be measured as if it were an N/A car...no big.
weird though if you checked all that s***...

Justin, maybe your car is just randomly slow for some reason; The numbers you put down seemed way off. And please tell me Nick isn't one of the srt's that beat you...

I dunno if you have a relocated maf, but my car ran just like yours was last night after my idiot drug addicted mechanic slammed the hood shut on top of my perrin air filter while it was on top of the engine. It broke a few pieces of big plastic off and they wouldve been sucked into the turbo if not for the maf honeycomb. The result was that when I would try to get into boost when driving it home it when totally haywire and was pretty much acting just like yours. Once I realized what happened and pulled the pieces out of the maf the car ran fine again. Maybe when you were changing your car back to stock something got in their? I dunno, but Id just check to be safe.

Sounds like your MAF is screwed. CHeck to see if the little sensor is still in the housing or maybe its dirty.....try cleaning it.

nope. the gasket was larger than the stock hole and it fits this one almost perfect. i was going to bolt it down onto the s then grind it so its the same exahct size but i think i might run the chance of damaging the gasket.
you got a gauge in there? do u know what ur vac is?
cause it really sounds like a leak. u say its ok at any rpm but its really not cause u cant even get it to idle. maybe get a temp gauge on there to see if its way low?
if the maf was damaged youd still have vac it would just die out when goin into boost or act wierd when driving. had one of those too haha

the thing is we were on the street from a 40 roll. I'm not sure we have the same mods justin , boost? I'm tuned on my afc at 12psi and full turboback.
Your statement is very true though, most street cars aren't running to there full potential since they are daily driven. My stock clutch sticks like crazy sometimes and don't get me started about my stock motor mounts. I've seen stock srt's take out cars that should have won etc etc...
Yashart, sounds like a boost leak. i know youve checked every connection but check again. my car did the exact, and i mean exact thing whenever i popped a pipe off. but then again it could be a bad MAF
Tony i know my car isnt slow, it can run 13's. the numbers it put down cant be right. yes Nick was one of them, hes a damn good driver everyone just doubts him bc of his personality or something i guess. he was doing constant 2.1 60' times at the track on street tires, thats pretty good driving in my opinion, and hes only been to two autox's but done well at both.

Got a call from the body shop. They were pulling the car out of the shop and the brakes stopped working. The car dragged across the driver's side against a dumpster.
Long story short, the stainless line on the driver's side front caliper failed. The plastic protector tore open, the stainless braids rusted, bent, frayed, and tore open the rubber line underneath. Kind of scary that these lines weren't built very well.

Got a call from the body shop. They were pulling the car out of the shop and the brakes stopped working. The car dragged across the driver's side against a dumpster.
