Nice, I gotta get mine to be repainted, it is all chipped and stuff from rocks , and I am thinking about just getting one of those sealant or film protection things on them maybe.. or something to help them from chipping so much.. if you didn't get some kind of sealant or a thick coat of clear, I would be careful where you drive, CF chips pretty easily (notcool) also, do you know what kind of paint they used, it was that 3 step paint or whatever right?

can't see it very well unless you zoom in, but looks a little more noticeable in person, then again I look for that kinda stuff lol

i have no idea what kind of paint they used. all i know is that it matches pretty well. only problem up here will be the winter season for the lip, hope i don't smack anything.

My parking brake light and abs light came on, took it in and found out i need to have my front rotors machined. I dont know why i dont need new pads so i didnt gouge the rotor. Any idea what else would cause me to need to have my rotors machined?

how much are they charging you? usually in a front brake service it's a set amount for machining rotors WITH new pads.. if you get new ROTORS, it costs out the ass.

no he said i dont need new ones he said they need to be machined. Not sure how much he is gonna charge, i dont think it will be too bad. If he is giving me new pads up front he will probably just replace the rear pads too. He usually cuts me a break because I have been with him ever since he opened his business.

it sounds like he's prolly replacing the pads too.

Replacing the pads would be logical as the rotors themselves wouldn't cause those lights to come on but low pads would.

my dad just got some rotors turned that were on my old spicy (RIP) that he might use on my brothers new msp because his car had been sitting around for 2 years.. but he charged ~$115 I think it was, or a little more, to machine them all, but 1 was cracked so he replaced 1..and this is without any brakes or anything, just taking the rotors themselves in..

as far as why he would do that, maybe they started to warp a little or are just uneven depending on your driving style..?

I don't turn rotors... I just replace them after 2 sets of pads usually....

As far as I know, you should replace your pads anytime you replace or machine rotors. The pads develope every little crease and line that is in the rotor and kinda match the rotor. So if he is machining your rotors, your pads aren't going to match them and will just lead to early wear on both items.

hmm, well if we use them, and since they were sitting outside for about 6 months, he is getting new pads.. so would that work? I have like 2 sets of rotors, 1 from my new msp that were taken off a while ago (I got slotted/drilled now) and than the rotors from my totaled car, he just machined them to get the rust off I think.. but replaced the 4th one because of the crack.. that might work?
but I think I will be selling the machined ones and using the other ones

-also my brothers car still has rotors on his, the car has been sitting for 2 years before we bought it, do you think we could get those machined and they would be good to go?.. or rotors sitting for that long should be chucked or something?

also on a side note, since this is a what I did with my msp today (well I did it last weekend about but I usually work on my msp every time I am home form school lol... anyways, changed the oil after sea foaming it, repainted the side pillars (all of them, some of the paint was chipping because I rushed it in the winter time=bad paint job) I also finished polishing my heat shield still need pics of that...
here's a vid of the sea foaming, the first time when I first sucked the sea foam in, it was A LOT smokier, this is after it sitting for 10min

-also, anyone know what I could use to clean the oxidation crap that is on my pulleys and I think the power steering pulleys or whatever they are (the metal pulleys on the front left side of the engine, I was able to polish one of the A/C lines that was easy to get to, but I really wanna clean the rest of them too.. they look SOO good clean)

(Nice finally got it to show up lol)
