What have you done to your MSP today?

yeah, that's the "rumor". Sometime this week I'll call and get the real story. If its true, I'm gonna flip out. Getting a turbo rebuilt for under $500 would be awesome. Trying not to get my hopes up though; because I know its unheard of.

Same here....I'll pass 85k (stock motor and turbo) this weekend when I go to NC to pick up my gf. Luckily I found a shop here that'll rebuild/upgrade the turbo with bigger guts (so I'm told) easily under $500. I'm surprised I've made it this far.

Sounds about right. What they are going to end up doing is removing your center catridge and putting one in with bigger wheels in its place using your stock housing. Its a pretty sweet deal because they enlarge the stock housings and it will always look like you have the original t25r in there. Word of caution though I highly doubt you will get a dual ball bearing center catridge put back in which means your spool will probably be a bit slower.

you guys must have better shops out there... every shop out here is chargeing an arm and a testicle for well... any work... I try and use my dads connections from his top fuel days as much as I can but I cant really do that to much with the MSP... now the 55 was probably build for half of the usual cost. but then again all of the GOOD shops around here are old big block all motor shops.

Well, I FINALLY got my gears done and new 4 puck installed (big thanks to Manny at . WOW am I HAPPY! The car pulls and feels SO much better. I've got straight gears and they sound like an airplane turbine when I have them engaged - they make a whine noise similar to a supercharger. And the hp is sticking with the new clutch disc. My street racing one is still perfect though - no flaws or wear. So I'm keeping it as a spare should anything break. But more than likely, I'll just replace it with another 4 puck and just sell it I guess. But I'm very happy with the new work and almost done with all my engine and tranny mods. THANK goodness!!! lol

Straight cut - called Semens or something. I haven't been able to get the spelling quite right. They're apparently hard to get - took weeks for mine to come in. But they are AWESOME. Glad I went with them. PAR's are ok (they may be helitical...spelling?), but I think I made a better decision getting these instead.

has any one tried a Fidenza clutch and flywheel in here? I am considering it and woul like some user feed back

Don't really need them - which is why I haven't gotten them. Happy with my set-up the way that it is.

And I don't really remember how much I paid for them since I bought them weeks ago through Manuel at TBK. I hadn't been able to find them anywhere else on line. I think the two gears were about $1k but I'm not 100%.

DAMN.... I'll just stick with the GTX gears... but I will need a new clutch. and if I'm going to be payin 600 for one I wan to make sure it is proven on these cars and will last a while.

I love the sound of the straight cut gears especially along with a cutout and 17psi :)

Did you get a full gearset or just 3rd & 4th? PAR makes a straight cut and a helical cut. I still need to go back for the PAR bearing brace, output shaft crownwheel and 5th, along with a quaife. Maybe next income tax??

Go with an ACT or competition clutch setup. Just make sure you go with a 6 puck sprung ceramic disc it will last a while and not be too bad to street drive

if I was to get a local fabshop to o a 3" S-pipe would any one be interested? just asking cuz that may be what is going to happen with me, and If I am going to do it others may be interested, so I figured why not share the wealth

I've got the 4 puck but it has a spring. So it's not too bad - feels the same as the street racing one I had on, but it actually holds it and engages MUCH MUCH better. I had the 6 puck - HATED it! It was way to harsh.

And I didn't do the full gearset. Not too much need to, so I went with 3rd and 4th only. GTX isn't as strong as the gears I got, it's supposed to be a little stronger than stock, but not better than the PAR's and Siemens. You'll pay more for them, but it'll be worth it in the end.

There isn't much proof that the gtx gears are very much stronger. A few have shredded them just the same.

I'm still waiting for my Exedy Stage 1 to start slipping. I'm close to 350whp and it's only rated for 300 at the crank??

yeah but the GTX is going to be plenty strong enough for 300 hp... I hope... and I dont have a grand tho throw down on gears.

well I was looking at the Crossover Auto website last night and thats what the ACT clutch is rated for...

Exactly. I wouldn't use the GTX - just my $.02.

And that was my problem. I'm pushing 300 at 15psi and my street disc wasn't cutting it - it started slipping. I think it's rated like the Exedy stage 1 and I have an ACT - they're pretty similar. Aren't they basically made by the same company?

But I went with the 4 puck and love it. I had the 6 puck with the heavy duty plate and did NOT like it. So I ended up keeping the heavy duty plate but replacing the disc with the 4. I'm happy with it and it's holding the hp very well so far. Not sure about the rating, but I think it should be good up to 400 hp.

I'm going to start doing some test and tunes at the track and up the boost a bit more. But I won't get around to it til maybe next month or so.

What would I go with then, those are the only gear I can seem to find that are a strait swap to our trannies... and I really dont want to risk tearing up a gear or 2
