What have you done to your MSP today?

My car is magically boosting somewhere near 20 psi right now, kind of an unplanned issue that just kinda happened. I think my wastegate spring has broken somehow. With that being said, I noticed the one time that I built boost recently that the gauge screamed up to 15 psi and I let off the gas with the quickness.

Having said that, I have not boosted since, and decided that another full exterior detail was in order until my new 10psi spring gets here. So I hot bathed and hot soaped my car with Meguiars car soap, dried it with my Shamwow type chamois cloth, did a very extensive clay bar on it(somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 hours) with a Meguiars clay bar, waxed it with Meguiars Nano Wax, wiped the windows down with Invisible Glass, and promptly parked her in the garage.

Tomorrow, she will get a full vacuum and shampoo courtesy of Hoover, and an interior wipe down with ArmorAll products and protectants. Finishing touch? A new car scent Pine Tree air freshener.

Anal about my car, you bet your sweet ass I am.

for an MSP, being nearly 6 yrs old... and such heart from an owner... you truely are someone that everybody on here tries to follow in very latent words, whether its a lurker or someone who doesn't admit it, you should know, that you are an inspiration. good job and good luck.

haha whats up product placement?!

Some of us would love to be able to care for a car like that. However, for some of us, we're just happy the MSP is still working on a daily basis. If this cop job pulls through, mods and care will follow.

Thanks everyone, I'm just me. haha. It's not just this car, I did the same things with both my 1992 Subaru SVX's. The way I see it, my car is a direct extension of my own being. I love her, and she loves me, some days.

The MSP might be 6 years old, but damnit, that doesn't mean that she can't look like she just came off the showroom floor. The way I see it, I'm just getting started.

It may be 6 years old but I have a lot of people thinking its a hell of a lot newer then that.

Not today but yesterday.... I still need to go back and put clamps on the BPV fittings. I some how forgot those but right now the engines to hot to do anything about it.

Edit: The perrin filter is way to big to fit on the end of the MAF.... So I guess I'll have to relocate the MAF at another date.

Edit: I know my coolanr jug is all out of wack but its what I had to work with. The stock bracket was MIA when i got the car. I might get a billet one off of PG later on.

i thought the billet ones didnt work cause they didnt circulate the coolant properly

has anyone had a problem with there cylindar walls? my dad is over here saying I will have to bore the cylinder walls out cuz theres 88K on the motor.... dont really know what hes talking about but ok...

I am going to replace the piston with forged pistons... but why would I need to bore the walls out...

No reason to do it unless you're in the middle of rebuilding the block. That's probably true of domestics though. Old skool.

well you need to bore the walls, because after 88k your walls will be worn some, thus if you get stock bore pistons, they wont seal well... you should be getting overbore (bigger than stock) pistons, and boring the walls a little to match them.
