What have you done to your MSP today?

I found my girlfriend a car. A 2006 Mazda6 S, 5 spd, 120k that "needed a motor" for $2000... Well, it doesn't. It's got bad cats. She took it to some rinky dink shop in her little BFE town and someone told her that. She is the original owner and had all service done at the dealer in my city until a year and a half ago then started going to Sears. She gave us all the service records and repairs done on the car. I kind of felt bad driving it out of their driveway knowing the engine was okay. It does needs a few minor things, but nothing bad at all.

Why does that s*** not happen to me? Ugh.

And yeah the only times I had to go get an oem part at the dealership the parts guys didnt even know what an msp was.. then they would just show me the parts diagram on the monitor and ask me to point at what I needed. Yeah...

isport composites made a limited run on them a while back. As a matter of fact, SwirlFX, the guy that posted below you(post #44674) has one of the limited run CF 03.5 lips

yea i know they did, ive done a little research and ive been around some custom paint shops to see if theyd be willing to make a few. no luck yet =((( . i would love to have a CF 03.5 lip. lol

i have a quick question. I have a brake problem the pedal sinks to the floor when i push it. I originally thought it was a banjo bolt that was loose on my caliper, as that happened to me once before, i checked it and it seems dry. when i push the brakes down slowely it doesnt really stop but if i press them down all the way the brakes still lock up. so my braking ability isnt 100% gone. also pumping does seem to build pressure. does this sound like master cylinder issue? i tried doing some research and the only master cylinder i replaced before was on a 94 accord and it looked a lot different than the one on the MSP. how do i test the master cylinder on these cars? or could i have a leak elsewhere as well?

or you have air in the lines.

yeah but in order for there to be air in the line there has to be a hole SOMEWHERE. brake fluid doesnt evaporate. the main question was does it sound like master cylinder, and how can i test the master cylinder. where does it generally leak if it is leaking? when i installed it on my honda it was on the cabin side of the fire wall but on our cars it seems to be connected directly to the tank.

also, if i unbolt the master cylinder from the firewall will i leak fluid if i dont empty the reservoir first? im under the impression that the rod that connects to the pedal doesnt see any fluid so i should be able to take it off without draining, right?

it was the drivers side banjo bolt... im actually really concerned.. i had my brakes done probably about 5k ago and about 4 months ago my passenger side banjo bolt came lose and caused the same exact thing. for the last month my cars been sitting since my brakes were ****** the DAY i had to leave for school. so i finally got home and after calling AAA to come give me a jump i drove around a little bit and saw immediately that the drivers side is leaking now... tightened it, drove home now im waitin for my buddy to come by so i can bleed it. definitely going to be keeping an eye on the bolts and im going to look into replacing the bolts entirely.

What's the proper order for washing, waxing, buffing, clay bar and polishing?

My black paint is getting a little faded, and I want to bring back the shine this weekend.

Rinse, wash, rinse, shammy (If that's the right spelling), clay bar (removes light dirt imperfection and helps smooth the surface), polish (helps bring back the shine), wax (protects form fading and repels water). Sometimes all you need isa good wax and don't need to polish.

I use Mothers most of the time, but I have a s*** ton of stuff in my garage. It seems like every time I pick up something at the store I already have it at home. Oh well, it adds variety.

does anybody know where i can obtain one of these transmission saver brackets ive heard about? id like a little more peace of mind with my tranny.

replaced coils, spark plugs, wire, boots and wipers. Bout to order CF wrap for the hood and top and then travel to Florida.
