What have you done to your MSP today?

Now that is just mean.
sorry. Not really, but for the sake of it we can pretend...
Not too hard to beat the LS2 GTOs if they're stock. Modded, yeah, no. That's another ballgame, lol.
agreed. A lot is left on the table out of the box... slowly checking off those weak points. lol
LS2, LS7 Pfft... only thing I'm jealous of is their ability to make better use of 1st gear, well okay maybe 1st-3rd :)
funny you should say that. A buddy of mine has an LS7 in his, and he spun 4th HARD on the freeway when we were playing around.
Yeah, to your point above, my 1st gear is pretty useless stock. All wheelhop. The sway and shocks I put in are great for improving turning, but double as wheel-hop controllers... giving me back one of the RWD advantages that IRS tends to hinder.

I pulled my fenders a bit

ahh love ur protege!!

Ahhhhh where the hell is the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket? I can't see it at all

isnt it on the timing belt cover? thats where it is on the 1.6l it should be the same for the 2.0

I think there is one on the cp but the pulley isn't on because the timing belt is off. Trying to line up the sprocket to throw the belt on and time this b****.

Crankshaft sprocket? What are you talking about?
If you have the pulley off, its very clear which part to look at, its the locating tab that makes sure the crank pulley sits on there right (cant for the life of me remember the name of that right now) but that piece should be pointing straight up, also you need to make sure the camshafts are in the right position (both intake and exhaust valves closed on cyl 1.) If you have a copy of the service manual, or the link to the website, it would be much easier.

I have the pdf. I wil have to take a pic of the crankshaft "sprocket" when I get to the house. I'll take pics of the camshafts also for your input if its not too much trouble.

Ok I feel dumb now. With proper lighting, the timing mark is easily visible. Still gotta double check the cams though

Can someone help me out.. I was telling a new protege guy that to upgrade to a T28 turbo that he would have to tweak his WGA... I can't find that link for it.

what wastegate does it have? and what wastegate bracket is he using? the stock wastegate will work fine with the 25r bracket you just have to adjust it out. the atp with the stock bracket wont work unless you chop the end of it off and thread on the portion from the stock wastegate making it adjustable like i did. the 28rs bracket and wastegate don't work period. To get the 25r bracket your going to have to cut the holes into half moon shapes because they are too small for the 28rs housing bolts. Also your only going to use one bolt to hold it on. The stock 25r bracket isn't wide enough to catch 2 bolts from the 28rs housing. it is more then sturdy with just one holding it on though.

only thing i'm not a fan of is how he did the wastegate and how he cut the coolant elbow. Those are definitely not necessary at all when you reuse the stock wastegate and bracket.
