What have you done to your MSP today?

it's a shop here in Charlotte, Driven Performance, one of my friends is the owner so he's helping me out on it, they mostly do Honda's but he's a real sharp cat, the car is still sitting on the dyno.

Anyone know how to take off the upper oil pan, i was having a real hard time with it yesterday before i left the shop

Shoot Luke, Korey, or Scott a text - they'll help you figure it out.

i called Korey and Scott around 9ish last night but neither answered they're phone, i'll try again today

damn I was home, was it a 213 number? I did ignore an area code 213 call last night, if it was you, shoulda left a message and I'd get right back to you. I was working on new plumbing for the sink and a little pissed most the night, that s**** sucks. I didn't feel like talking to a marketer at that point so I didn't answer. I am not too sure about the upper pan, if I remember correctly there was a problem getting to it when Luke's car was being built and they ended up tapping it on the car, but I am not too sure. Did you look it up in the Protege service manual?

nah i called from my 404# but i had a hard time getting through, service sucks in the shop, i have not looked in the manual, might have to pick one up, the side that's stuck is on the tranny side, i'm thinking that it might have dowels holding it in

sorry about that fell asleep early last night. The issue with the upper oil pan is that it has two bolts that can only be accessed by removing the transmission as they are in the bell housing area. Thats why we drilled the one on lukes car because we had forgot about everything and put the trans back on without thinking about it.

anything i should look out for when dropping the tranny, pointers, tips, anything? Scott, i know ur a guru at this by now.

Decided to sell her for an rx7 if the price to insure it works out. Someone will be happy wit mine, ive never had any of the horror-story problems that so many people see on here... in fact the only time i think ive ever had to take it to a shop was for 36,000mi. tune-up, it's been a very near perfect, low maintenance, well behaved car.

you can drill 2 holes in teh tranny if u dont want to drop it, then u can use a socket and extention to get the 2 bolts that are in the tranny. its not dowels. dana has pics about it here somewhere. when ur done u just plug up the holes.

There's really no pointers or tips except just take your time.. If the car is on a lift a beginner should be able to get the trans out in around 2hrs.. I got mine out in about 2-2 1/2 hrs without a lift.. Albeit, Ive lost count on how many times Ive pulled it..

think you can help me out with those pics? if i don't have to drop it it'll be much better for my situation

today i brushed off my whole car, cause when i came out of my work there was snow everywhere, and boy.. it was a fun ride home /sarcasm

a car crashed outside of my house!

woo hoo!

Ive upgraded my setup since then but im so damn proud to be in there anyhow. I dont have a show car so i never expected to be in one.

congrats to the others in there as well.
