What have you done to your MSP today?

Dropped my car at the shop.... having starting issues like crazy. Put a new starter in and it doesnt want to start easily and grinds sometimes... And 4 day vacation not going to be home to fix so just let the shop have it for now.

Well I don't have a 1/2 inch air ratchet... so that's not happening tonight. Also hearing a very loud ticking noise from my motor.. not sure I even wanna know what that is. FML.

Air ratchet? Are we still talking about endlinks?

I'm weak and they are seized up lol. Whatever, after hearing the motor noise tonight I've just about had it with this car. I love the style and handling when it runs right (rarely) but I simply can't afford to go down this road any longer. My bank account is pretty much tapped out. I'm calling up a mechanic tomorrow to hopefully get it looked over this weekend. I am going to have him make a grocery list of everything that needs fixed, and if it involves a lot more than the s*** I already bought, I'm selling it.

Possible part out thread pending inspection.

that's why you want a cut off wheel near by.

Rickta it's like once a month you make a post like this, I hope motor noise is nothing serious

I got the alt/water pump belt on, took a trip to the parts store to get a new belt, the Gates High Performance is an 1/8" too short to fit.

There is a reason for that. My list of problems is never ending. I hope that it is not serious as well, as I do like this car. Though I simply can't afford to fix it much longer, the car isn't worth as much money as I've put into it, and I've run out of patience. I'm paying a mechanic to do the clutch, manifold (if I get one), and possible turbo / downpipe installation. Though if I decide not to keep the car, I will be selling the extra parts separate.

to reply a few posts back, 2000 grit wont help you paint bare metal. scuff the metal with 400 or 600 grit. 400 is fine cause you need to seal it with a dtm epoxy primer. you can use an etch but you still need to seal that to top coat it.

2000 grit is only used for polishing urethane clear coats.

Spring oil change and summer time swap last night. Sprayed some Ospho rust converter on the door and rear fender surface rust. Sprayed PBlaster on the power steering pump bolts, alternator bolts, and water pump pulley bolts in preparation for the timing belt, water pump, and accessory belt change coming up. Some time this spring I'll be pulling the door apart and get down and dirty with the prep and paint because this rust thing is getting annoying.

^^ speaking of the belts, how do you adjust the power steering pump pulley, not like the tension, but apparently the reason my brother's msp has been squealing so damn much is because it was not put on 100% correctly and was out of alignment very slightly, I honestly can't really tell, but I think it's like 1/2-1cm out further than it should be, how do you push the pulley part in a little more, I see the screw thing, it looks like I could screw a bolt in there and maybe tighten it that way.. but anyone? this part is new to me

Roofs been stripped, sanded, primed, and ready for paint.
Going to be done a nice shiny gloss black.

You take off the power steering pump, put it in a press, use a large sized socket, and press that s*** on the right way. The pulley is pressed on, so that's the only way to do it.

PS Pump pulley install

damn, I'm guessing a wooden vice wouldn't work on a work bench, and is there anyway way to make sure its completely lined up, or is it just "all the way on is correct" kinda thing? thanks for the help, guess I have a little more work than I thought I would haha

Polished my exhaust tip yesterday lol. Probably gonna buy new pads, and black lug nuts tonight because I'm getting my wheels powdercoated next week :)

have the boost and wideband guage in, have the power and ground wires connected. now I just need to find a wiring diagram so i can hook up the ignition wire and the instrument panel wire
