What have you done to your MSP today?

^^Ya I have had all 3 versions of the HKS now lol. First I had a V2 (non-adjustabled and HKS in yellow on top), then I had a V1 (adjustment screw on back but was painted black so I don't know if it was originally yellow letters), and now I have a V3 (all silver). They all sound pretty similar to me and seem to perform about the same, but the self adjustable seems like the best thing IMO cause I got annoyed with adjusting the V1 all the time trying to find the sweet spot.

awesome. then i didnt pay way too much ha.

now just have to figure out how im going to mount the damn flange. ill probably order one of those flange pipes. seems the simplest, but what would it do to the airstream to go from 2 - 2.5 back to 2" if anything?

so that is a V2... and likely real. ricktalife saves the day.

...mighty mouse is on his way... sorry I had to.

Well if your BOV flange pipe is smaller diameter than the rest of your cold pipe, it would cause a bit of a restriction obviously. Though I highly doubt you would even notice a difference. Then again my hot pipe is 2.25" and my cold pipe is 2.5" so there must be a difference in performance somehow.

Well. The bov flange pipe would be bigger. Im running 2.25 pipe where flange pipe would be 2.5. I might just get it . Lije $50cdn and it would be more flexible.
I think holesaws and misc s*** to modify and attach the one i have would cost more.

agreed... the ebay piece works just fine, and costs like 15 bucks shipped.

I used a crappy ass snap ring pliers from the auto parts store, and it was a pain, but it got the job done.

$29 shipping for an $8 item.... Lol ill prob get that though. Thanks for link.
Oh and my snapring pliars were too small. I had to bend the tips of some needlenose pliars o compress it, stick flange between legs to hold, press down valve with elbow and with same arm push clip down with a screwdriver.. Dumb design....

lol people do that so they dont have to lose as much money to Ebay when they sell it,
cuz ebay gets a percentage of the fs price, not of the shipping price haha

and i agree, the hks snap ring design is terrible, they need to make something like the greddy, just two bolts

Thats why im gonna use an STI/Mazdaspeed3 flange on my water/air intercooler. Right on the Tank.

im gonna hold out on paying $50 for a pipe for a week, try to cut the nipple off this one and weld it to a pipe.
gotta get on it asap though. my temp fix on the stocker pipe has definitely blown. my car still boosts to 7 psi but i bet its running more at the compressor cause its leaking from the bpv fitting.
car sounds like weezy when you shift gears lol.

the 2.25 pipe is just temp anyway. when i do my proper water/air setup ill up the piping size, sell these hardpipes as a set to someone else who doesn't yet wanna get an fmic.

gonna paint them though.. should look at least half decent. pearl black, or metalic red.

:edit:

tried a sample weld to see if the flange could go right onto the pipe. success =) i only did half the flange and its pretty damn tough. if i did the whole way around and built up the gap all the way, that thing would never break.

my plan was to chase with a 3/4" holesaw, which is a little too small. so what ill actually do is predrill with my 1" holesaw and weld on. saved myself $50 =)

should be getting my injectors back today from cleaning (FINALLY) and my car will be in commission once again! yayy for installing injectors in 10 degree weather with high winds and snow!! woot

yea man i got it for a pretty good price too. .86ar 28rs come with coolant lines, oil lines, and the wastegate has allready been modded to clear the block

Does the .86 spool slower than the .64? Or maybe i'm completely off target, but I'm curious what the difference is.

Fuel cut is driving me crazy!!! At least I think it's fuel cut, this car has terrible hesitation at anything more than 1/2 throttle. Shouldn't be having this issue since the car has been reflashed (back in 03 according to the sticker) and i'm running stock boost levels (AFAIK, no boost gauge and have adjustable WGA set to stock) but it is much more noticeable in cooler weather.

No. Fuel cut is when your just drivin alobg and your motor like.... Shuts off for a split second due to overboost. Not a pleasant feeling.

Yeah. mine basically does it constantly in winter in any gear above 1st. Helps with fuel mileage though! lol

I forgot to post this yesterday:
