What have you done to your MSP today?

I think it was more of a find one kinda cheap uncracked one to get you through till you can get a steedspeed

Ahhh I see. Nah I will just wait. Thank you :) It's about to be nasty here in Oklahoma anyway, dont like driving it in the snow, my driveway is HELL to get up into, REAL steep!!! And the Mustang wont do well either......hmmmm guess I am screwed...LOL.

I've driven the MSP through a couple blizzards, its really a pretty good car in snow. Not that I would recommend doing it, if I had an option I'd have a winter beater.

K Good deal! Cause I like this thread. Everyone is so helpful. I need to find a good mechanic here in Oklahoma that works on these cars.
It would be what happens when you have senseless arguments having nothing to do with the topic, and no, not directed toward you in any way.

I've got 105K on my car, and other than a couple superficial cracks, my mani is fine, no function problems with it. But yes, other than a couple leaky welds the steedspeeds have no reported problems at all to my knowledge. if you're holding onto the car for a while, they're a must-have.

No way! I am not that great at driving in snow and with the driveway the way it is...not happening. lol Last year goin down the driveway in snow scraped my front bumper on the curb. :( Now it has deep scratches. Probably just have my man take me in his work truck. lol

Yea I am holding onto the car til I pay it off at least. When I got it, it has 36K on it, but I think it was probably cracked then.

ha. if your a girlie its not hard to bribe a couple dudes to work on your car for booze. especially a fun rare car like this.

ill also mention that if you don't have the $700 bones for a steedspeed, Lots of people are running the thunder mani and they are quite strong. Think they have a good warranty on them too. $400 is a easier pill to swallow.
though i personally would get the steedspeed. there is just no way that thing will crack. pretty much a chunk of solid steel.

you must have a pretty wicked crack though. mine is cracked like 2inches between cyl 2 and 3. missing two studs/bolts and no smoke for me.

I'd be more likely to think that the smoke is actually coming from the oil return line under the turbo. That o-ring is probably done and some oil is running down and hitting the hot s-pipe and burning off. Or possbily some oil might have missed the filler on the valve cover and run down to the maifold and burned off there or maybe the valve cover gasket is due. I haven't really seen too much smoke actually from cracks in the mani. I have seen smoke from the o-ring at oil return and I saw smoke also when my oil return got baked and started desintigrating when my CS S-pipe sheared in half.

I work at a trucking company and there are a couple of guys in the shop. I have talked to one and he siad he would take a look at it and let me know if he would want to work on it. Yea I will just wait for tax $ and get the best one. There are 3 cracks about 3 ins long each.

Okay thanks Velo. I will check into that too. But even if it is what you said, at least I found the cracks because of the smoke. :) I don't see any oil on the ground. If one of the things you mentioned were occurring would that cause the hesitation??

Oh and I had two missing bolts as well, replaced them and it is actually starting better after that.

The "multi quote" button (quotation marks w/ a + beside it) is next to the the "Reply With Quote" button. It lets you quote and respond to multiple posts in one reply. :)

Where'd you pick up the hankooks from? Next paycheck = winter tires for me. Been trying to get lucky w/ craigslist, to no avail... My summers are not cutting it anymore, lol.

I searched craigslist as well but didn't find anything with our size. I did however find a good deal for some summer tires mounted on spec v wheels for only $300 and about 50% tread left I believe. If I had the money I would buy them just to sell the wheels and get free tires lol. Anyway, I got them through my work (car dealership) for $96 a tire + tax. Normally they are around $115 a tire I think. I love my connections lol.

Yea that's a good deal for the steedspeed. I think scratchandsniff still has his for sale which he's asking more for, but it includes all the gaskets so it's still a pretty decent deal.

installed my new exhaust last night and took a picture of it this morning. Enjoy =)
