What have you done to your MSP today?

So I saw this on craigslist and was curious if this actually bolted to the MSP or if it is N/A. It looks too long to be a turbo manifold if you ask me but who knows. I'm not trading my steedspeed for it, but maybe somebody else would want it.

Those are oriented the wrong way. Don't think they are for any Protege... Definitely not a turbo manifold either way you cut it.

Don't put your foot in your mouth with statements like that !!

The cooler the intake air, the more efficient the intercooler can be...

If you have stock intercooler yes it COULD be worth it because it sucks, But im NOT putting my foot in my mouth. With any after market FMIC a Cold air intake is not needed. At speed 55+ cold air is flowing into the motor bad as it is.

Theres been way to much debate over this and im sticking with Cold Air is useless with turbo'd cars. you can toss as much cold air in the intake as you want, the turbo is still 300+ degrees no way 10 degrees is going to help that. Hence intercooler.

Agreed, any cool air gets heated up as soon as it runs through the turbo just to get cooled again by the IC.

And for long period of time the pipeing is METAL, which will heat up and with a longer "tube" it will heat up before it even gets to the turbo IMHO, But in the end there is No gain noteable from either a SRI and CAI. Ill stick with my SRI because it looks much better in my motor bay with my big filter and not just some random pipe going though my fender thing.

CAI... any differential in temperature will result in a hotter intake charge whether you have the best IC in the world or not. The bottom line is that the cooler the air is before you start heating or cooling it, the better it is for you. That said, I don't think the difference is significant, so my intake ends above my transmission.

thats NA header
its also DEFINITELY not for a protege of any sort.

the angle of it looks weird... haha but i know theres 2 pcs. designs and such out there you never know lol.

But on a sad note... no working on my car today :( Fedex was here and no one was home.... I hate when I have to sign for it. soooo lameeeeeee. :bs:

Not a 2 piece, it's oriented the opposite direction of how the fs-de is oriented...

exactly, its for a car like the mazda3, where the header is on the back. Think about it, that thing would be poking through the radiator, even if it did have anywhere near the right number of bolts for our exhaust flange.

Put gas it in but I did get my Perrin Short Shifter and my Perrin Fuel Rail today!

Did the fuel rail come with install instructions, or do you know where to find some? I need to swap fuel rails but I've never done it and don't want to screw up injectors or anything.

yep, haven't really looked at them just yet but I'll look them over when i get home from work in the morning for ya.

lol thank you, it doesn't have to be noticable differences, but no matter how you cut it, cooler air is still cooler air, and im not always driving 55+miles, around town cai is bringing in cooler air more so than the sri, doesn't have to be noticeable or proven on the dyno, but still... (it also depends on how hot it is outside compared to in the engine bay..)also I thought the point of the aluminum piping is so that it cools and releases heat better than the plastic and other materials??? but thats the end of that....no need to continue.

so today I worked on my brother's car for a change, man is that thing a mess, I really hate the mechanic/original owner, but I was able to get the wiring all set for the wideband, take off the front bumper, re-aligning his FMIC and kinda fix the fitting/bolts, found out I will have to take off the midpipe to get a bung welded in there so I can move the secondary o2 sensor behind the welded in cat on the old CS exhaust, and so I can put the wideband o2 in the front bung of the custom made s and j pipe.. also installed the little clip things that go onto the headlights that hold the front bumper up more, the guy didn't even reinstall those I guess so they were missing, and reinstalled his 440cc RC injectors back into the car, hmm, oh and installed his new wga that took forever for a Garret dealership to find one that would work on his turbo
-tomorrow the midpipe comes off and goes to the welder, I'm gonna replace my HID fog light in my car, install the ssafc in my brother's car and get the routing for the wideband o2 sensor all set, a lot of work but fun to see it coming along, and I can't wait for my last 2 couplers to come in for my FMIC kit to make it all fit together and be done with finally

Front lip and new headlights :)
