What have you done to your MSP today?

Ok new problem, my vac reading is idling at 19 and when driving my car is stuttering slightly. any ideas? I have not had a chance to look at anything yet cause im in the middle of finals so any help to pinpoint the problem would be appreciated.

isnt 18-21 the normal for vac at idle? My guess there is something else wrong.

Check your plugs and see how they look. The msp does run super rich so its common for them to be bad. Also new wires wouldn't hurt either.

^^ ya -19-20 is normal, sometimes I get 22 in idle and when I'm coasting it's around -25, but I also noticed that reciently, sometimes my boost gauge will read -20 about at idle but my Greddy ebc will read something like -97/96 or so, although at -20 it almost always reads -99.. but once I drive it around again I'll check the lines and see what's up, and since the boost gauge and ebc are T'ed into the same lines after the firewall, they should be the same, I'm thinking the smaller diameter in the ebc might have thrown it off.. or I should check the vac lines going to the ebc.. who knows..

and ya mgerst1 if you have your A/C on, or any fans on it will read higher.. and make sure you are warmed up or it will read a little higher also, but mostly when the fans are on it will read above -20 or so.. which is normal, just keep an eye on it

The EBC is probably reading KPA or whatever the different unit is like wagon said.

edit: and today I replaced the mazdaspeed trunk badge with a new one (looks so much better) and also added a Mazdas247.com sticker :D

No pic right now since it's raining...again.

^^ ya I know, the only reason I picked up on it was because it almost always has -99 at idle, unless it's not warmed up or the fans are on, and neither were the case, like I said I'll just double check when I drive the car next.. and ya the ebc is set to psi so it's negative psi, it was originally kpa but you can change it to psi.. it just shows -psi instead of hg like the other gauges

I usually get a 19-21 vac reading. I get 17-19 when the AC is on. When i downshift, at an hwy exit, its gets down to about 22-23. I say thats normal. If u got a vac leak ull definitely feel it when u drive around.

ya, and I get those vac levels when it's warmer out in the summer, and the ones I mentioned when it's colder.. I just realized I might just be noticing it getting warmer lol but ya, I guess since everything else is working, I had nothing else to check out lol, so I investigated the small change in vac levels from the ebc hah.. so use to having small problems to fix.. but! next weekend I paint my calipers as close to spicy orange as I could order.. which was "Sunset Orange Metallic" from G2, hope they come out like I think they are

just got back from MWMF and the grandparents. good weekend.

Yea I'm hurting on money too. My computer sounds like it is going to s*** the bed before long so maybe I can sell all this extra s*** I got laying around and have enough money for a new one lol.

edit: Oh and anybody running an ATP wastegate, what boost are you at now?

Try cleaning the far with a can of compressed air. Does your computer sound like its getting ready for lift off?

Yea I cleaned it out pretty good not long ago. It sounds horrible when first starting up and I just replaced the side fan. It is atleast 4 years old now so I think I might build myself a new beast :) but I gotta make some money first lol.

Alright just checking.

does anyone know the size of the set screw from the MSM oil cap? or maybe have a pic of it? i know its kinda random but sice there are quite a few of protege peeps running these i thought i'd ask

the fans, hd, and the rom drives are the only things that really make noise. Also about it being 4 years old that doesnt matter. The one im on right now thats hooked up to the big screen is 5yrs and runs like a champ.

Honestly if you build one build it to your needs and not go all out. Computers get out dated now faster then ever and its like 3 months not instead of 6 months!

However one of the biggest things i suggest dumping money on is this bad boy! Its totally worth it. Its one of THE fastest HDs on the market and its generally always your bottle neck in your system. HD transfer rates just havent been able to keep up with the speed of the CPUS.
