What have you done to your MSP today?

I'm not a paint specialist, but I think if you buff it a little after painting it will help blend the paint with the rest of the car. Maybe I'm wrong.

buffing wont change the color, it changes the gloss

if you get the color mixed somewhere, they may have mixed it to account for fading in the sun but who knows, most of the time new paint is always darker then the OG paint

They run the same connector num nut. The p5 just has two wires coming out of it and not 3 like sedans. If you would run hids, u wouldn't have this problem. ;)

Sigh... the connectors were definitely not the same. H7 /= H4 connector. I tried it every which way and the prongs on the bulb wasn't lining up at all with the prongs on the connector. I got it all worked out now, but I still can't figure out how to wire it so the low-beams stay on when I flick the highs on. I get I need to ground the lows to the car, but the place I tried wasn't working, even though I sanded it down to metal. Any suggestions?

BTW, I want to get xenons installed (HID is a lens type, not the gas used for the bulb) but gotta put money aside for that later on...

well HID which I think are xenons at least the conversion kits with the xenon gas inside, are only like $45 for a kit if price is a problem, and also aren't your low beams suppose to go off when your highs go on??....

oh and also... today I finished cleaning my EGR valve.. soaked it in the carb cleaner last night, and took a wire brush to it this morn, and used about 3/4 a big shop sized bottle of the carb cleaner.. spic-and-span! only problem is that when I was putting everything back in, I realized I had my bottom section of the cold pipe open since I took off the top, and some rain got in through the hood vents, even though I put a garbage bag on it.. so I found a little dampness in there, long story short, spent about 2 hours taking parts of the cai, smic fan, hot pipe section, and a few other parts, just to get the bolts I put on the bottom of the cold pipe off since I guess last time I put them in, I tightened the T-bolts w/o the smic fan in there.. so had to take it back out to get it off.. loads of fun.. otherwise it would have been a pretty easy job to clean the EGR, and now the car runs great! even runs richer than before in boost, so really time to tune wed. or sometime when its warmer

Not until all mods are done to the car. As I said... cocooned until it emerges as a beautiful butterfly of doom!

Well do to it right I'm looking at one of the $100 kits with the shrouds and all so I can use D2S 6000k bulbs and try and mitigate the ricer glare of horror. The low beams ARE supposed to go off when the highs go on, but I want to wire it up so they stay on all the time...

ooo lol, well not sure what the shrouds are or D2S bulbs, but I heard someone talking about that on another thread, either way I have the 8000k headlights with the 6000k fogs, they are bright as s***, I used to get flashed all the time before I lowered the headlights a lot (aiming) and put eyelids on them, but still get some flashes here and there.. since 1 of my fogs broke I don't have them on, but with those on I get more flashes.. but ok, to each his own lol

i have 7000k's, never been flashed. a chick did flash me at the green turtle last night tho

im about ready to give up on hids... $100 on bulbs in a year? SOMTHING is going on that side of the car. time to get my p5 lights and do up a custom harness.

if your paint is sun faded, it can strip off the faded oxidation...

wow your really going through bulbs fast, the only reason I had to replace my fog light is because that is the side I crashed my first msp, and I was surprised in the first place that the bulb was ok (the piece that covers the top of the fog light bulb was bent completely in but not touching the bulb itself, and the fog light glass was smashed all to hell) but the base of the light had cracked and when I was driving it around with the completely tightened coilovers, it shook it loose and eventually broke.. but other than that, my HIDs have been going strong for... I think 2 years almost.. but I would have to say that something is wrong with your setup, I would suggest putting silicone over the holes to seal them better, it seems to work well for me, and also rub the bulbs with rubbing alcohol b4 you put them in, because they shouldn't be blowing like that..

Has anyone here ever had the driver side/transmission mount break/fail on their car? How did you know? What did it feel like when driving?

I hit a pot hole the other day and now I have this noise every time I hit the gas or let off it while in gear. No issues when just rolling downhill in neutral or with the clutch in and sticking the brake hard; only when the tranny is "engaged". The car still shifts normally and the clutch works fine but I hear this metal to metal "knock" sound when hitting the gas or letting off the gas. Any ideas?

yea. i dunno whats going on. must be somthing wrong with my driver side wiring, or the assembly. I thought it was the ballast but both ballasts are fine. seemingly. ill have to rig up a desktop power source to test them more thoroughly.

was gonna install a relay kit and run them off their own power source but i wanted to try and find a 8 to 15vdc to 12vdc regulated power supply to use so i never have this problem again.

any thoughts?

im back to stocker halogens now.. which are... yellow... the highbeam on the driver side doesnt seem to work now but i didnt swap the bulbs to find out if thats the problem. frankly, i dont care at this point lol.

swaping my clutch out next week. then i might look for ANOTHER set of bulbs. and ill wire this s*** properly. will have to look for some fogs i can run on the msp as well, since technically, its illegal to not have running lights here. i turn my lights on out of habit, which probably has somthing to do with them failing on me .

getting kinda concerned about the electrical system bogging though. somtimes just sitting at a light the idle rpm goes down a couple hundred and every light dims, the wipers slow down. somtimes my stereo even turns off and on again.

Finally got my ABS and E-brake light to go off!...for now lol. I had my dad scrape off some of the solder and reapply a little bit on the wire I shouldn't have touched and voila! I know I'm stupid for touching wires and I don't want to touch the ECU ever again...unless it is through my computer.

I recently picked up a trunk lid off a laser blue lx from a junk yard to try out the wingless look for a while.
BUT the new trunk sits uneven. One side slightly too high, other side slightly too low. I can't figure out what to adjust to make it even with the body. The rubber stoppers are the same on both trunks, there's not really any adjustability with the latch, and I don't see anything adjustable on the hinges. I figured it would be an easy swap since it's from the same car, but no such luck.
Can anybody help me out?

finished up my center caps. didnt wanna paint them originally but they had so many scrapes and chips i figured i might as well. and in the process stumbled upon a pretty good match for hyper silver ha.

I like the blue, what did you use for that?

dupicolor metalcast. the hyper silver effect comes from the black chrome metalcast.

I didnt put a ground coat on the screws. wanted to keep them looking more anodized.

I like that, nice subtle touch
