What have you done to your MS3 today?

Drove it to work, drove it home. Then drove it to retrieve my daughter's car (timing belt, water pump and hoses). Now the Camry's good to 200K or so...

I sprayed my exhaust manifold stud and nuts and 4 turbo studs to mani with PB last night, getting ready to remove them.
and my Corksport down pipe is cracked. sweet.

went outside

cracked a beer

looked at rear driver brake caliper with wheel on that isnt braking properly

decided it was too hot to start fuking with it

went inside and drank more beer

brake pad is only biting the outer half of the rotor, last time i pulled the caliper off to find the outer pad had slipped out halfway, reset it at anthony's place 2 weeks ago and now its doing it again,

i will more than likely be up at 6am tomorrow to put the OEM rear pads back in before it gets hot. i think the shape is a bit off with the hawks

swapped back to oems in the rears, took about 45 minutes since i did what? 5 brake jobs at your place anthony?

looks like a pretty bad design flaw

on the outer pad there is a small spring that presses it down when the caliper is on, the perch that it is supposed to press against is maybe a 1/4" wide at best, and it can easily pop out when putting the caliper back together, causing the pad to tilt, and only grab on the outside of the rotor

now, seeing as how this was the 2nd time this happened i just said **** it and swapped back, im sure the spring on the pad is bent in some way and it would only pop out in time. I also noticed that the pads were not applying force evenly as there were rust spots towards the corners of the pad.

in short. im gonna go have a beer even tho its 1040 because fuckitall

I was having a similar problem, but mine were only biting the inner 70% and I had a rust ring around the outside of the rotor. It eventually fixed itself without me doing anything. I'll keep your notes in mind when I switch out my rears.

i have used only EBC pads but even the stock ones did not sweep all the way out to edge of rotors. If the pads are not wearing flat. ) use straight edge ( there is a flaw.

Sometimes it's a good thing when you can swap out pads and rotors in 45 minutes. for me it usually means i f'd it up enough times that i finally have procedure memorized

De-badged and wrapped My hatch in Matte Black 3M vinyl, painted and put new filter in HKS intake, fixed boost gauge, re-attached Turbo-timer to dash, put roof rack back on... and Short blocked my engine for my truck, busy weekend!

Drove it to work in the rains from Debby, let it sit in the rain Debby brought, and drove it home in Debby's rains. She'll be here all week.

:) She's pretty wet... 4 1/2" of rain here so far. The central peninsula will probably finish out at 10" to 12". She's supposed to hang around for several more days, so you have time.
