What have you done to your MS3 today?

If guys are getting 400 on a stock block, I doubt 315 will do much more than inconvenience the duty cycle from laziness.

only thing i can think of is the filter 0-ring

the motor starts and runs, not like i blew out a cylinder or anything. i could drive it now, obviously i wont, hell i even drove it out the garage to meet the flatbed

You are braver than i, sir. if i knew my oil was not in the dipstick's safe zone i wouod never crank the engine

You get cheap filters? i just grab the frams from wallyworld

I use AC Delco. Not because I'm a hard core fan. Just because I get them cheap at work. Otherwise I'd being using PureOne.

Fram isn't rated well.

had no choice, underground garage in manhattan, truck wouldnt fit.

o-rings were pinched/torn/blown....drained 1.5 quarts from the motor, 6 went in. spin on conversion with oil pressure and temp gauges have now moved to the top of my list

no metal shavings in what was left of the oil....hopefully no longterm damage

I cant stand our cartridge filters. i understand they can be a little less messy than a bottom mounted screw on type, but its more hassle than anything else. ive already had to replace the whole unit because the bleeder screw was starting to crack where the threads meet the head, and of course mazda doesnt sell the screw only

same with the gas cap tether. i cant just get the tether, i have to get a whole new cap

Am I supposed to be seeing something in the pictures posted above, because I dont really notice a difference there.

first time I let the kid solo an oilchange, he cught dyslexia and poured oil into the corrola until there were exactly 4 quarts in the jug.

i found out after doing 3 12's in a row

right about 220 miles of mixed freeway highway

pulled the valve cover and found clean shiny cams

center console by the cup holders is all shiny

im guessing my journal bearing in the turbo probably took the worst beating, gtx3071 at tax season for me

I had to buy a whole cartridge because the screw head was stripping on my old car. That oil change was a PITA. My new MS3 has the spin on type and it's 100x easier to change the oil now. Don't even have to remove the stupid air dam.

The first time I changed the oil to my speed I pinched to o-ring as well. It's wasn't untill I drove the car home from work when I saw a trail of oil I left behind coming out of the garage to the street lol.

no thats a factory shift boot. just installed a boost gauge in front of the shifter and painted all the way back to the center consel. got the closest paint to factory trim. now i have to tear apart the radio and hvac so its all the same.
