What have you done to your MS3 today?

I can't get mine out without an impact gun, EVEN my gf's Dad's DeWalt 220 ft-lb plug-in wouldn't back them out.

Um, great!! Smooth shifts, like butta!

I was asking Domino, but you have RP too?

Admitedly, I think I might have applied shock torque with my baby thor...

Its all technique really. And if thT doesnt work you grab a torch. And if that doent work you grab an acetylene torch. And if that doesnt work you grab an oxy-acetylene torch

I felt a difference when I put my stock 2nd cat back on. lol

Why work harder when you can work smarter? I have the tools. And I'm already in a compramised position under the car.

1. Installed polished ETS TMIC - loving it!
2. Replaced both rear shocks as the driver side rear was blown. Wasn't happy about that at all since I only have 64K on the vehicle.
3. Had the 60K maintenance done (it's like getting wallet *****)
4. Had a TPMS sensor replaced as it was leaking.
5. Had Dent Wizard remove 2 small door dings.

Paid Mazda $950 for diagnosis work that led them towards requesting an engine tear down.

One step closer to enjoying my car again. Woot.

What planet are you guys on where shocks that blow out at 50k or higher are an issue. That's strictly maintenance. Shocks should always be replaced at 50k maximum, not to mention we are driving cars with unforgiving suspensions that will take more of a beating on potholes compared to a soft ones.

Mine are toast at 30k and I'm not complaining. Just saving up for something better

The 60K service is basically the same as the 30K and is what is in the owners manual. As to having to replace rear shocks at 60K is disappointing. I get the fact that we own sport tuned cars, stiff suspensions and what not, but having own many other cars this was the earliest of all vehicles that I've personally had to change. I can't compare apples to apples, but our Sienna has 140k and guess what? Original shocks and it drives on the same crappy NY roads. My RX300, never a shock problem and sold it at 80K. Our old Camery, the VW VR6 Corrado (120K), Jeep Wrangler (130K), infinity Q and so forth...never replaced shocks (at least when I owned them). Call me lucky, fortunate, whatever, but having to replace both rear shocks at 60K sucks.

In my conversation with the service tech he did say that rear shocks replacements on the 3 series hatches was a common occurance; not so much on the sedan.

I did consider the Koni Yellow Sports and wanted to do it all around, but $700 shells was a bit steep at this time considering that I dropped a good chunk of change on the other items / maintenance.

Failed to mention and is probably driving some of my disappointment; while in shop and doing the 60K maintenance I was told the seal on the timing chain housing is leaking. Repair will be $600 to replace just the seal (dealer cost) or $900 to replace seal and timing chain (plus whatever else comes with that). Do you consider that strictly maintenance at 60K? I call it something else...

dp install saturday........not looking forward to it

I wish you lived closer, I'd like to hang out to help and see what's involved for myself.

And I don't think I've ever seen stock shocks blow quite the same way these do. They're horrendous. My Dad's Avenger still rode close to the same @ 100K that it did with 22k.
