ive never changed one of those.
I would imagine it isn't hard but can be quite messy. I'd just buy the parts to retrofit to a screw-on filter

Well to be honest I took my own oil to the mazda dealership and had them do the filter change for me. 9.95 filter included, is worth not getting messy to me. Anyways I don't really want to change the filter I think the cartridge types work better. They use them in alot of performance cars so I think I'll just stick to what they have on there.Kansei said:I would imagine it isn't hard but can be quite messy. Kansei said:TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS? yikes you probably could have gotten two better tires for that price. I'm sure the stock tires are decent but there's always better out there.

does anyone know about a thin 12's subwoofer for trucks that are 2 ohm, i found alot that weight under 100 oz's (4ohm) but i want 1 2ohm and 1 4ohm, for the diff frequencies. let me knowfourthmeal said:I took mine with friends and wife up to Hoover Dam the long, twisty way. For those that don't know, you can take Lake Mead Pkwy to the State park area, then run the high speed sweepers to the Dam.
I am working on lots of little things:
For the exterior, I'm going to Zaino Clay the whole car, then apply as many coats of Zaino Z1 polish as I can until either a: my hand falls off, or b: I run out of Zaino. The more coats, the more glossy! Zaino rules, btw. Once it saved one of my cars from a brutal keying. Scratched the Zaino coats, but never got to the paint. Thats PROTECTION! Anyway, I might post before/after shots if I get the time
For sound, ...well car audio sound quality is a big issue for me, so I'm going to Dynamat and/or Cascade the doors, hatch, and trunk floor as soon as I can. Then, I'm going to work on a fiberglass stealth enclosure for a 10-12" sub. I'm thinking of going entirely Polk Audio MOMO Carbon series, since they sound great, and their amps are very attractive, and will compliment the Silver MS3 nicely. The entire system will be stealth as possible, with the amps either in a false floor arrangement or a sneaky side panel install. The spare tire must be usable for it to meet my needs of daily driver use. As my budget grows (had to start a new career/job, what a wallet pincher), I'll post pics and how-to's of what I'm doing. I don't yet know if the head unit of this car will be replaced. It would disable the steering wheel controls (forcing me to get an infra-red remote repeater to use them again), disable the pretty red dash display, and likely interfere with the style of the car's dash quite a bit. So, I may just install a top-notch Line Converter to save the hassle.
For performance, I'm going to dig through the engine compartment and look for cheap or free horsepower. I'm certain there is a reason the car won't rev to redline easily, and I'm curious as to why. Then, after a cure is discovered, I'll invest in the right parts to maximize the powerband. No exhaust work for me though, its already loud (for my taste if the car is to remain under the radar), so I'm going to work on the intake.
Other improvements, I'm waiting to hear what we can do about a short shifter with the MS3, and I can't wait to pick out a lighter/easier to clean set of wheels, probably still in the 18" class, but a little wider so I can use more rubber when I get new tires.
