What have you done to your MS3 today?

lol, you won't love it for long. It'll start to make you worry about s*** you never worried about when it wasn't there lol.

Set up your alerts! I have my screen flash red at 5500 for my shift light, and my screen stays green until my coolant temp is above 140 so I know when to romp on it!

Yeah, Ill set up the shift light, and no, I dont want to monitor KR, just because I will get really bad about it. I love the different boost readings that you can choose from, and I like to know where my vac/boost is when its still cold.

Installed a Saikou Michi OCC. Far more of a PITA than I was expecting but my angled needle nose pliers were indispensable. Will be interesting to see what kind of gunk is collected.

DIY anywhere?

Not sure I understand the question. I bought the kit from that guy Matt whose info is floating around the site. Was a turn-key solution with everything I needed. He is shipping them with a check valve now instead of another PCV also.

I meant any special instructions/pics not covered in the instructions. I have the same kit, about to install it on my gen2.

Ah! *facepalm* It's pretty straightforward. I found it easiest to put the bracket on the catch can first, then mount it to the car (instructions aren't specific). I also really struggled to get the stock hose off the PCV until I busted out the angled needle nose pliers. My hands are too fat to get up there. I also found that using zip ties on the hose clamps as suggested in the directions made it more difficult because I couldn't get enough force with my snips in the tight quarters to cut them. Again, my angled needle nose pliers were indispensable for this.

gonna have to tuck the fenders a bit tighter, hopefully that stops it. Damn soft springrates. Going WOT the back end squats, and if i hit a decent bump, i rub, but DD theres nothing unless i do something stupid....

anyways, updated pics of the car in my rx8 wheel thread

opened the hood for the first time since she came back from the dealership thursday....fuckers marked the maf bolts and bolts to the accordian hose with yellow paint....

anyone selling an extra MAF? lol

Today my car has decided to throw P2187 so up in the air she goes to check all the connections again. Has to be a leaky connection somewhere in that OCC setup.

totally F'd up. maybe its cheaper to look for some of that yellow paint they used in case you do take it apart again and have to go back to that dealershit

I have a feeling they took pics of the paint, so if I repaint it and it looks different I may still be ******.

Make sure the tap on the bottom of the can is good and tight. Mine vibrated loose and I think that's what caused the CEL.

8.5MS3, you think you can remove the paint??

If so, that's what I'd do. If they ever question you about just say, "Oh yeah, I noticed that somebody got yellow paint on all these random spots under my hood the last time it was worked on, so I cleaned it off. Could you make sure they don't/didn't make a mess under there this time?" (dunno)

I don't believe the warranty info says anything not allowing you to keep things clean...

Also, there's nothing in the warranty that prohibits you from being able to remove and inspect parts, so I'd personally just tell them to go **** themselves.

Have pictures of said filter? I'm considering swapping to either the Amsoil or AEM dryflow on my SRI.

I didn't think to take side by side pics, but I did gets pics of the engine bay after the swap. Looks very close to the original filter in appearance, except that it's a grey media.

Oh, and I used CRC Lectra-Motive Electrical Parts Cleaner to clean the MAF sensor.

Washed and vacuumed it yesterday at work. Woke up this morning to find out it had rained last night. I freakin hate Oregon.

Story of my life. Every ******* time I was it, it rains the next day. Every time. I get so ******* mad at this damn weather. I am so sick of the rain, and ready for nonstop sun until the end of September!!

I fixed the issue with my hotside piping coming apart at the lower coupler. The coupler that was supplied with the kit was barely long enough. So i called str33tun!t and they hooked me up with a 5 ply 6" silicone coupler. Plenty long enough for the situation, but a pain in the ass to put in. The tight spot combined with the thicker coupler made for a good fight.

I have to say though. There must have had a small leak at this point since installing th kit. It just got progressively worse over time till it popped off. The car feels amazing . (drive2) LIKE WOAHHHH.....lol. Its funny how a gradual loss of performance is sometimes hard to detect. But a fix in something can make a night and day difference(hand)

Auto crossed the hell out of it! Nationals site on a huge 80-90 second high speed course! Still only tied a stock Cobalt SS with my coilovers, better street tires, and passenger. Cobalt is looking better and better :p

I think you'd regret a Cobalt, regardless of it's AutoX capabilities. There are ALWAYS better cars.. and the Cobalt is a very lateral move imo.

While reading about the '10 GTI and it's XDS Diff (using ABS to limit wheel spin - other cars do this like the CSRT4), it ends up going through brake pads like crazy, or resulting in some NASTY brake fade during heavy autox-ing. Not that I do AutoX, but still that sucks!!
