What have you done to your MP3 today???

Swapped transmissions yesterday. I got one from a 2002.5 Pro so I am pretty sure I have the improved transmission now. Took way too long for the install, haha. Nice to have a car again tho, after 3 weeks of being without one... Should be back on the forums a little bit more now too.

It's the same thing? Only slightly updated synchros. Did you swap cause you broke gears?
I believe they updated the 3-4 fork as well and the Throw out bearing was much beefier looking. Right now I'm not sure what trans I got honestly, some people are telling me I stumbled across an MSP trans. I'm looking into it currently to figure it out. Either way, whatever car it came out of had ABS, which the MP3 does not and for that reason I don't have a functioning speedometer/odometer... Its always something
Edit* And yes, at least one of my gears was shredded. That old trans had a lot of dmg. The trans was rebuilt just over 2 years ago under warranty and it seems that they did a sh*t job. When I went to tear down the old trans I found multiple bolts that had been stripped out and were held in with nothing more than black trans. sealant. And the axel seals were very obviously the originals among other things. So just seeing some things like that, it makes me doubt how good of a job they did on the rebuild. Especially since it completely blew up just 2 years later.

It should be EXTREMELY easy to know if you have an MSP trans. Just floor it in a turn and if the cars feels like OMG, then you now are running an LSD.
From what you are saying though it seems like the pink speedo gear may be damaged or you haven't hooked up the speed sensor that comes off the transmission. Hooks up somewhere on the drivers side to the wiring harness.
The trans I got had the dummy sensor in where the speedo sensor should go in and I haven't had a chance to check for a pink speedo gear, but either way it was set up not to use the gear in the original car whether it has one or not. Some proteges with ABS still had the gear while the MSP trans did not.
Also I don't really want to floor it right now because my car is just falling apart piece by piece right now I feel like. My gas gauge was moving around funny yesterday and I went to fill up the tank today and I put in 12 gallons earlier today and the needle is still sitting at a 1/4 tank. Seems like every few days something else is going wrong with it. I don't know how much longer I can deal with all these problems from a DD.
Also I don't really want to floor it right now because my car is just falling apart piece by piece right now I feel like. My gas gauge was moving around funny yesterday and I went to fill up the tank today and I put in 12 gallons earlier today and the needle is still sitting at a 1/4 tank. Seems like every few days something else is going wrong with it. I don't know how much longer I can deal with all these problems from a DD.
Broken Header pipe.
Well i was in a tunnel and downshifted, and as soon as i hit the gas i heard a horrible sound coming from my car. It seems as though i broke my muffler. so i got her home and jacked it up to see the damage. (breakn) lucky me it was not the whole exhaust but just the J pipe, or header pipe. I am working on going turbo but i went ahead and just bought some headers to put on for the fix until i was ready for the turbo. 100 bucks and two hours and this bad boy was on. (nana)

I washed and cleaned the inside out. Then parked her in the garage for a while

I know clean and she will actually stay that way. (screwy)

Damn sorry to hear this. Only the MSP came with ABS I want to say. I don't think the P5s came with it at all. Hopefully things start to lean in your direction soon.
