What have you done to your Miata today?

Swapped out the cheap-o amp for an ancient kenwood but the sound difference us HUGE!

Last Atlanta region autocross was today. Got a little more suspension and tire pressure tuning in and got some solid data. Sadly no video of our fastest runs because we had some SERIOUS timing issues in the first (aka: my) rungroup due to a broken antenna on 1 of the lights, and had a significant (almost 2 hours) delay that ended up chewing through the battery. I need to see if you can buy batteries for the 2nd gen GoPro Heros (not the Hero2, but the ones between the OG GoPro and the Hero2).

That said? Man when we got the pressures dialed in the car was just hooked up. So much fun :D

you can get extra batteries, better solution would be figuring out how to give it a 5v power all the time so that doesnt happen...i think i saw something recently but i cant remember how they were running it.

As for my miata...i saw a picture of it last weekend, havent driven it in months. Probably looking to sell it around the beginning of the year if i can decide on what i want.

Yeah, that would be ideal, but would involve having some part of the case opened, which would make it really, REALLY noisy. If I wanted I could run external mic(s), but it's just not worth it. I'm not going for super quality, as much as trying to learn from it.

so I am going to be replacing my all belts soon since they are cracking. i saw one belt cracking but since I don't know how well the PO maintained the car I figure it would be a good idea to do them all. that and i still need to actually buy my brake pads. I think those porterfields would be too much for daily driving since they require some warm up and the cobalt friction are too expensive. thanks for the suggestions guys but I will be going with stoptech. I hear good things from my friend joe and the other miata guys who run at willow.

I thought my car wasn't going to see another shiny day until next year being how last week my car was getting to be really icy in the mornings. but that's how the weather is here. It can go from 50 degrees one day to 90 degrees the next... and i am not even kidding about that.(boom01)

also, I added some new future plans to my build. megaflow high flow cat and megaflow catback exhaust.

Drove mine to work today. Fugger didn't want to start. Was acting like it was flooded. It was really weird because the last time I drove it was... Saturday?

Bought some nice leather bits from Redline Goods. They'll be added to my small (for now) pile for when I get home. As long as there is no snow on the ground, I'll be driving mine when I get home.

That is strange.
I always thought a car would have to be sitting for about 3+ weeks before it got any battery or siezing type problems

Anyone here have experience with putting a 323GTX block into a Miata? One popped up on CL and I'm thinking it might be a cheap way to get my "forged engine" fix.

Well, I have a feeling that the valve seals are going out, which could be doing it.

Oh mine starts, no doubt. It just smokes like a mother ****** for about 20 seconds.

Picked my miata up from the body shop yesterday. I did most of the body work and sanded the entire car down. The paint job was a total of 230.00. I also purchased a R package front lip that i had painted with the car and its getting installed today when i have time to go outside and do it. Here is a before and after pic.

WOW it looks like a new car! That price you paid is fantastic as well. Out here on the "left coast" it would have cost plenty more tokens for a nice paint job like this. Everything is more costly out here in earthquake country. Gasoline is finally dropping from a high of almost $5.00 / gallon! You enjoy that pretty new car of yours back there and keep us all infomed about your changes.

Well when i only had rear dent repaired before sanding tge car and getting rid of rust and other stuff like pealing paint he told me 1000.00 for paintjob. Then he said if i wanted to use his shop to complete my work myself he would charge me 100 to spray the car and 130.00 for materials he used to mix in the paint. Te paint was free he had some leftover red. Little darker than stock but it was free :)

Lip installed now and rims painted till i can buy some new ones
