What have you done to your Miata today?

Could be a stuck injector, I should look at plugs to see if something is off. One of the injector rail bolts was loose, and I fixed that this weekend.

Perhaps the base timing is a bit off? That might explain some loss of fuel economy.

Congrats and welcome back to the club. haha

I'm sure you already know but you sir, have a keeper! :)

I got one! (again)

'94. 86,000 miles. Cheeeeeap....

Was sitting in my garage thinking more about what might cause poor fuel economy when a light bulb came on, the TPMS light in my MS3 to be precise (I have a very slow leak in one tire). I realized that I hadn't checked my Miata's tire pressure since... forever. I haven't been to an autox this year! Every tire was below 20psi (as low as my filler gauge goes) so I filled up to 32psi and we'll see if that helps any.

Today I opened up the headrests and found the root of the problem with the driver's side H/R speakers:

...So, that's fun. The passenger side ones are Rockford Fosgate, and not blown up, so I swapped sides.

Yesterday, I went from this:

To this. Covered the scratches and fixed the carpet:

On Saturday, I installed the Sony headunit I've had sitting on a shelf for a while, and fabbed up a blank plate for the hole left underneath:

Oh, and here's a quick before and after of the detail job done between when I made the deal and when I picked it up:

Not bad. :-)

Thursday, I found out the front right brake caliper was dragging a bit, so I brought the car home and cleaned and lubed the slider pins. That didn't work, so I picked up a used caliper on Friday, pulled all the calipers off the car Friday night, cleaned them, painted them black, and then re-installed them Saturday. Then I filled and bled the system and took the car for a ride. Everything worked!

In the midst of all this, I finally found my box of Miata bits from the old car! I installed my Jeff Anderson headrest speakers, my Voodoo knob and brake handle, pulled the sun visors, and installed my visor plugs.

I also took the grill off the car and repainted that:

Then after dinner, I pulled the lights out of the front bumper, masked, cleaned, sanded, cleaned and sprayed a few coats of Duplicolor paint on the front bumper!

A couple more coats Sunday morning, plus some wetsanding, buffing and polishing, and it came out pretty good.

It's not amazing, but it's SO much better than it was, and frankly, my standards for this car are not that high.

The finished product! :D
