What have you done to your Miata today?

When I actually had my Miata it would sit for months on end and start right up with no issues... after I put a new battery in it... Korey's Miata has been sitting for a few months and starts up every time. :)
That's great. I have never had to store my miata so Idk how it handles it.

Oh mine starts, no doubt. It just smokes like a mother ****** for about 20 seconds.
Haha. Gotta cough up all that stored up nasty ness. Like an old fart .

Jlb. Thats one hell of a deal . Its looking good

My car sat for friggen 2 days and it shot carbon out for a good 15 seconds lol.
I start it everyday now, but I usually drive it anyway

I took it to a big Mazda meet today (EpisodeM, at the Skeetunit HQ down near Orlando)
Was pretty freaking fun and I got to see a lot of old faces.

Also won lifetime alignments in a raffle :)

Oh and the other day my clutch went all dead on me randomly (but came back to life after sitting for a day or 2 lol.
Ordered a new Slave/Master cylinder. Hoping that solves my issue

my belts are sqealing worse than a pig at slaughter. . .

i've tried belt dressing and tensions are right. . . . looks like i get to replace em already

Pretty sure because it eventually stops and starts on and off as i apply load (IE turn on headlights/ fog lights)

and it's not constant, it squeals for about 1-3 minutes on start up each time then goes quiet (but will chirp as i rev match to downshift while engine braking)

first of all. lucky bastard. lol.
my car is leaking from the slave cylinder also. the very common slow leak thing. I still need to replace that but for now i just top it up with brake fluid periodically.

mx-p5. that is interesting. my dads and my sisters cars. one is an echo the other is an xa both have that problem. typically it happens on cold starts and when they are stopped. but theirs has to do something with the ac because when they stock they just have to turn off the ac, it goes away then when they start going again turn on the ac. the setup are very different though so I doubt it's the same cause but the problem seems to be the same.

As you add load to the alternator, and thus the belt, you put more force on the crank, alternator, and water pump. If you've replaced the belt recently, try re-tensioning, it might have stretched. Try using a little sand paper (200-300 grit) to rough-up your pulleys' grooves if they are glazed. Try conditioner as a last resort. If none of this works you'll have to start looking at other possible causes, like the water pump.

a friend wanted to sell some wheels. so i jumped on it. wheels, tires + hubcentric rings for $350 :D

That's a good deal.

My car got all prepped for winter storage yesterday. The only thing that is left is to move it to the other building where I store it (if it ever stops raining) and take the battery out.

Good deal, and good looking. Mine is officially stored for the winter, battery is out and I put some Irish Spring soap in different places, a suggestion from Marc to keep mice away.

well, i figured out what is causing the belt squeal. .

Went to adjust tension on them this weeknd and found there is no tensioner there. . . the bolts and threaded block that i'd use to set the tension on the alternator belt is just gone. guessing it fell off? I'm a little stumped on that. . Gonna call the guys that worked on the car last to make sure they didn't touch the belts

Either way, i'll went to the local dealer and they have to order the parts, so i'm off to Treasure COast Miata after work today to get the parts needed.

Also, installed the ricecar yellow fog bulbs

I had that happen once on mine. It's probably still laying somewhere along the side of I-75 south of Atlanta lol. Borrowed a bolt from the radiator, used a pry bar to set the tension, then tightened the crap out of the bolt through the alternator / bracket lol. It got me home.

Happened to me too... on the interstate. Overheated me engine and blew out the intake gasket.

Ouch. I came across the last run of an autocross blowing steam out of the overflow, but beyond that it was actually not a terrible failure, fortunately.
