What have you done to your Miata today?

Yep, and if i don't mind saying, considering how much work i did, there wasn't a single leak anywhere so i'm proud of myself :) No coolant leak, oil, or exhaust Time for (drinks)

Run her hard for a bit, then see if that holds true ;). Heh, water is dissappearing on the turbo Miata and I haven't a clue where it's going.

Joined today and thought i would throw my 2 cents in worth of what i have done with my car over the last 3 days...... Ya i know day but its been..... lets call it fun.

Did the waterpump, t-belt, painted valve cover, rad hoses, heater hoses, and after last nights events. A new Aluminum Rad is on the way! lol the most fun you can have at 2am.

I'll bite: what happened to your radiator?

well simple really. fitting the upper rad hose cause its a cut to fit. fit perfectly so i needed to take it off to put the clamps on. wouldn't you know it. new rubber, and plastic equal SNAP! ya its not so good. So now i have a nice piece missing from the top PLASTIC piece of the rad. Oh well. Got aluminum one coming. should be here this week. Hopefully Wednesday. Here is a pic of the nice work i have done.

ouch! bTW, what year miata is that? Also... OMG GREEEEEEN! lol wow that's a loud valve cover ;)

It is a 2001. Ya i was going to paint it black, but decided the green would stand out with a dark green car. but in person the green looks just like a kawasaki green.

Check your nipple thing behind the block. That's where mine was leaking from.
EDIT (from my previous post a few pages back):
1 - Overheating. The car started over heating badly..... After adding coolant & water it went down. After checking it today it appeared that liquid simply vanished??? So we get a pump and stuff it in the radiator & start pumping. All I could hear was water & pssssssh from air escaping. After tracking down the leak, the problem was an easy fix. It was the plastic nub behind the block directly below the coil. A quick replacent solved the problem.

yeah, since it's not street leagal I can't really test it under load until i get to the track, besides reving it to 4k and bothering the neighbors. I'm waitlisted for the weekend of the 29/30th with NASA at VIR, so hopefully we'll find out then if all is ok...

Also the 626 thermostat housing/coolant manifold is waiting for me at home, so yay.

"They" are holding an evasive driving course today and tomorrow here @ my tarmac.
So far I did I ride along and saw some neat things...j-turns and all...really fun stuff.
Tomorrow after the class I may be able to run the miata through the course...lol...can you say dorrrrrrrrrrrrrrriftoz?

damn... turns out it is too small for what I need it for (too narrow). I might make a thin plate to seal it. Might still be usable if I can figure that part out. the thermostat neck itself would have fit perfect though.

That never stopped me from running the Miater on around the close back roads before I legallized it.

Also, any pics on the issues you're having with the t-stat housing and/or neck?

Phil, I hate to say it, bud, but those wheels are hideous! lol

It rained for a few hours and the course is wet. I'm going to watch a few runs with the Ford Focus cars and then make my mind up about taking the TY out. On the slalom, there some serious standing water....

Maaaaaaaaaan that s*** was AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!

I will have pics/vid as soon as the guy gets pics/vid to me....******* hell yeah...******* got to drive the Miata through a soaking wet slalom on the tarmac with 3 instructors...haha...that was bad ass.
My words cannot explain...lol...he got really awesome pics too!
