What have you done to your Miata today?

I felt a little energetic when I got home so I got under the car and bent back the heatsheild as much as I could then took her for a spin, that nasty rattling is totally gone. Pretty sweet, I was getting scared the cat went bad. lol

BJ's are pretty cars with decent handling potential and nice practicality... just with s*** engines.

Hopefully get the correct slider pin today so I can get Mia back on the road and ready for AutoX on Sat.

LOL. It's funny.

On topic: This morning I pulled the highest number of miles on a tank that I've ever done. 314 miles on my MSM. Woo!

Picked up thos FM springs, going to install this Sunday, 35% stiffer than the Tein springs I have now. Might beat more than one car in my class next AutoX.

Are you referring to the SCCA solo this Saturday? Is that at NHMS? I'm doing the SCCA time/speed/distance rally Friday night from there.

Snapped a pic coming into the driveway of the headlight output now with (only one functioning) HID fog when i went to get a battery for the Protege

Filled up with gas tonight and got 31.3 MPG with the previous tank. It included mucho aggressive driving.

Hey Shae, I never said I missed the bj now did I? Not once lol. And I stand behind my 10ae being my dream car. The nc doesn't hold a candle to the special nature or uniqueness of the 10ae. It does however air condition my balls. And I like that

I fixed my cruise control finally! Up top on the clutch pedal assembly there was a hole that allowed a small white peg to poke through. I used one of the factory panel tabs from the floor area to plug the hole and now the cruise works great. Looks like the peg poking through prevented the cruise from becoming activated. Now I just gotta fix a slight soft spot when I push the clutch, is there anyway to tighten it?

Finally got the correct part for the slider pin and the fronts are done. Changed the brake fluid.

Did a seafoam treatment... undoubtedly I pissed off my neighbors. Also, if I were to do it again I'd leave to top up (boom08)

LMAO that white peg is the clutch switch (didn't I already say that?) that is pushed in when the clutch pedal is at rest (ie, car thinks it is in gear, hence cruise control can be activated). And since your clutch pedal has a soft spot, it probably wasn't engaging the switch, so the CC module always thought you were in neutral. Which means the problem wasn't ever with the cruise control, but with your clutch.

What to do to ACTUALLY fix it: bleed the clutch. That *should* get rid of the soft spot. If it doesn't, then yes, there is a threaded rod / nut that locates the clutch pedal itself that can be adjusted. Don't go to much at a time though, or you can end up with a clutch that's always putting pressure (even minimal) on the clutch plate and cause pre-mature wear.
