What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

managed to get mine down to 14.75 @93 mph it was the last night of racing.... so with more research and parts and practice i hope to see much better times in june when the track opens up again!

Sounds like an awesome car. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I wasn't overly thrilled with the transmission when I drove one, but the interior is great and the exhaust note is pretty wicked as well. Any plans for it yet?

The exhaust layout in the rear is horrible IMO.

Ordered my first appearance mods for the GT today.

It's a Ford accessory, and will be here tomorrow, along with my black chrome pony and rear mud guards (std. on the GT500).

Sadly I just don't feel the MS6 really has potential... almost not worth the money to build. Not sure how everyone else feels.

I disagree. You can daily drive a tuned/bolted MS6 and enjoy it. Unfortunately, there aren't many parts for it, and it's on a dead platform. No reason you can't throw a good suspension on there, intake, inlet, DP, exhaust, upgrade the IC, and tune it and beat it every day.

what steve said, just moderate power tweaking yet still handles in comfort. besides the MS6 isnt a car made for "massive power" potentials. its a driver's car, the everyday driver who wants some power with his comfort.
if you wanted big power potentials for straight line driving, this wasnt the car for you... some knew that and planned the MS6 as a temporary car anyway, i can accept that.

i was never a huge fan of just power striaght line power, so the balance of the MS6 is perfect for me.
for now this is filling the void with some light track duty, but eventually it will become purely my DD and ill invest in a dedicated track car.

it's not so much we are bummed about losing MS6s in our community, its moreso we hate to lose knowledgable and helpful community members.
despite yall saying "you'll still be around", lets be honest, once you go to a different car platform you tend to dedicate more time towards THAT car and things involved.

Chris, as I've said before, even if I'm not here constantly posting, I will reply to PMs as needed if people have questions.

Did anyone else get screwed up by the Photo forum and the Lounge swapping places on the front page...?

Anyway, I was driving home yesterday evening and I got behind am car carrier. A large chunk of something that looked like hard rubber came off somewhere on the truck, bounced a couple times on the road, and went right onto my hood:

Fortunately, I had the wherewithal to get his license number. Not quite sure what to do with it, though. Suggestions?

As will i, its a dead platform unless you have A LOT of cash. trust me on that one i should know... but keeping it simple and adding a few bolts on's, running an AP, doing a little self tuning and you'll run mid 13's to high 13's, there's plenty of information posted across all the forums for anyone to go in and read what needs to be done for there power levels they want to achieve, buy, install, tune and drive. and you'll be able to beat the snot out of the car on a daily basis.. i mean just because were not around as much doesn't mean that what we've posted is to go to waste..

I don't have my AP anymore but would gladly make a map for anyone that wants one, i cant promise ill be on here everyday of the week, but as Steve said any questions asked will be a question that get's answered.

Even though I don't go in for the tuning aspects, I do plan on keeping my Speed for some time and will share whatever knowledge I have. Hell, the only reason I got rid of my '03 Protege was to buy a Miata (had the wife not told me that's the only way I could get one, I would have finagled keeping the Protege). So let's not close this section just yet (and remember, it's what have you done to your 6/Speed6, there are a few regular 6 owners about).

Great post. If it aint broke dont fix it. I can honestly say this will be a car i think i would want to keep for a long time just because. Its comfort and beauty rolled into a slight performance package. Was by far the best car in the price range i could afford. Nothing else had the leather, 6 speed, awd, and fun, plus a back seat my 6'6" buddys can fit perfectly into.

I personally like the fact that driving a rare car like the MS6 makes me' stand out from the other tuners out there who are a dime a dozen. Does anyone else feel this way? Dead platform or not, I still love my car and fully plan on keeping her well past 100k miles (pending the cost of the up keep at that point lol)

i AM keeping my speed, just driving it less to preserve it for a longer time, and to achieve that i bought my first beater today....

to my collection i welcome a 1997 toyota tercel with 246,000KM on the odo, the little gem only cost me $635 taxes in!
