What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Hoping to give mine a bath and clean the interior up. The wheel wells desperately need some attention, since I can see them now that the car rides like an SUV again...

Installed the Turbosmart 2 days ago, washed yesterday.

Steve, you ought to change your avatar to match the future color of your 5.0...just an idea.

So i just recently got back from my NorCal trip. EPIC!
Big club meet, then got to do the touristy thing with my cousin.
one BAD bit tho, the morning of my trip, i was at the tail end of a minor hit&run in a parking lot.

guy hit the driver side rear bumper corner, left white paint transfer, cracked the paint and deep scratches from when it pushed in that corner... luckily it popped back out at least.

Fairly minor, but the cracked paint part is not repairable, needs repaint.
im super aggrevated cause i JUST had all that work done on the front end the other month.

NOW THIS!?

Deductable for damage caused by Road Debri = $100
Deductable for damage caused by Hit & Run = $500
Aggrevation at how much bad luck happens to my MS6?? = Priceless??

Ouch batou, that sucks dude. If it makes you feel any better the second week I had my car my dad drove it, then pulled it into the garage and didnt pull it in far enough. Well the garage came down and scratched the hell out of the back bumper =[

Here is a pic I took after I threw my catback on. It is soooooo deep -.- It is just below to the right of the license plate.

There was, but it was at the perfect distance away where that the garage door was able to close, and there was nothing breaking the sensor telling the door to stop. So the metal bracket on the garage door totally owned the back of the car.

Ooo ouch. that does suck.

mine is a freakin grocery list of things that happend TO my car since i have had it...
which is only since August 09.

- first day off the lot, 2 hr drive home in the new car, road debri chips my windshield.
- 2 weeks later, i park at the far end of an empty parking lot. only to find a shopping cart had somehow "seeked" out my car, 3 small dents on rear corner of bumper.
- 1 month later, someone in my work parking lot is lowering a heavy load off a truck. The edge slams down on my deck spoiler leaving a huge gash mark.
- 2 months later, friend jumps in driver seat, pocket knife clip in his pocket scratches off pain off the outside edge of the rear door, then snags the leather and leaves a big ol scratch.
- 3 months later, road debri slams into my car off the free way. Cracks windshield, and cotton-cheeses the hood and front bumper.
- 6-7 months later, this latest hit & run occurs.

Not too mention the past owners messed this car up BAD, horribly cared for paint job, missing floor mats, a couple paint spots on the roof that opend up, rear diff is slightly leaking, brake pads are nearly gone, and stock tires were damn near bald, alignment & camber were incredibly wrong, and so and so forth.

i still luv my MS6 tho, restoring it and modding it are a work of love at this point despite it being purely a money drain so far. :P

As much as that sucks I still think i got you beat. I bought the car used with 28k miles on it. a little over 5k miles later, turbo seals gone. Bout 1k miles later, I down shift from 3rd to 2nd at about 3k rpms and boom, clutch and flywheel gone. Then bout 500 miles after that, on my way home from class, engine decides its time to call it quits. Only had the car for about 7k miles before engine blew. Found out that the owner before me beat the s*** out of it, drove it to the ground and only changed the oil once in 28k miles. -.-

I couldn't find a good pic of it in the blue I'm getting, but I liked that pic instead. I'll find one that color just for you Rez.

oh LORDY!!! poor MS6. :( specially about that oil change!! Thats the one thing i hate about used cars, you never know how the previous owners treated the car until YOU get the results of it... sad.

you definitly have it worse. srry meng!
luckily mine has mostly been superficial with very minor engine hickups like the axle seal.

Were there any signs that it was beat to s*** when you got it? Did it drive well? I'm terrified that I could have bought a car like that. Aren't oil changes and PM required when you lease a car?

sadly its usually not obvious until a few days/weeks/months after purchase.
the safest way to do it is immedietly take it to a trusted mechanic to do a FULL inspection.

Then you can try and get errything taken care of at the dealer if its still under warranty.
Mine was mainly body dmg that i somehow overlooked in the excitement of getting my car.

looking over something because of the excitement of getting the car? never.

but really, I did overlook a few things when I purchased my car. I guess it might be prudent to get the car inspected before I move away from the dealer so I can get warranty-able items fixed before I move away. It does sound as if the power steering pump is gonna go soon... hopefully that's the only thing. I've noticed a strange sound when cold that sounds like something knocking against the firewall or the firewall itself being loose. That could be hard to prove...

the tranny isnt so smooth from 1-2 when its cold.
the rear diff is known to have issues.
the driver seat sometimes get a little loose on its brackets.
the turbo seals, axle seals are known to need early replacing.
those are some issues to have your mechanic check along with a full inspection.

i also had a fender bender today... on a plus side i was driving an impala not my speed...on the down side the impala is for sale on my the car lot my father works for.. so i have to fix the damage to both cars asap(sad2)

There were some signs but it was really too late. I had it looked at, but nothing too detailed which I really regret. However, I now have a new engine that runs very well and I still love my MS6! Even though it has cost me an assload to fix -.-

Let's get off this depressing subject. Brings back bad memories.
Before I deployed I bought some 18x8+38 momo gtr's with almost new 245/40 fallen ziex 912's on em for 650 almost mint rims. My tire blew out driving to get them and the guy drove 150 miles. Helped me install them and left for no extra charge. Good man.
The 245's don't rub anymore after a slight fender roll in the rear and they grip amazing!

What did I do today? Drove my car home from school with the biggest smile on my face because I just finished :D. Going back to work in about an hour, start raking in the cash and modding will soon continue :D.
