What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

You can get the E8 at auto zone or pepboys. They come as a set though so you can't buy just the E8. Buddy of mine said 8mm works fine too. I was kind of iffy about that, because I wouldn't want to strip them.

Finally was able to wash the car in the driveway today. Cleaned the wheels real good, but still have some of that brown discoloration on 2 of my wheels that I get after every winter. I'll spend more time on it when I pull the wheels to swap them in the next month or so.

This afternoon, I still want to vacuum out the inside, throw a quick coat of wax on the car, and Rain-X the windows.

I'll take some pics of the new tires as well.

PTP internals installed! Car feels stronger. I am still breaking it in so no WOT yet. So far I have seen close to 1800 psi even as low as 2300 rpms.

After it was all said any done I could do it again very easliy. I was a bit confused on the disassemble part. I think the instructions are crap. I should have done a how-to on it myself...

I would post pics but the camera is still in the car. The easiest way to get to it is remove the battery, intake, turbo inlet hose, and ALL of the wiring and harness from between the intake and the fuel pump area. Disconnect the purge valve and the brake boost lines from around the fuel pump and pull these back out of the way. Now you have a clear view of the pump. This is where the instructions start to kick in. the instructions were vague and I found myself on different forums through out the day gathering info on disassembly.

All and all it took me maybe 30 minutes to get everything from around it. Another 20 minutes or so to remove the fuel lines and getting the E8 bolts off. Then you have to fight with the pump to get it to slide out. I used a screw driver for leverage. After that it slid out fairly easy.

Here's some pics of the new tires after a good cleanup today:

man i wish my stockers looked that good.. i kinda let them go alittle because ive got my O.Z.'s so they need to be powdercoated, theres not much hope of them ever looking like steve's again.

Washed my car when I got off work this evening. Pulled the car in the garage and started the fuel pump internals. Got all the wiring harness and vacuum tubes out of the way. Disconnected the fuel lines. Then realized I didnt have the E8 socket to remove the fuel pump!!

I went to drain my OCC and it was dry!! Looked around at the pcv lines and the one connecting to the IM had came off!! Sp pissed. Cuz now I have to remove the front bumper and the intake manifold just to get to it.

No wonder my forge has been fluttering for a while now. There is no vacuum to pull it up diring shifts... I hope I can do all this tomorrow. If not I will have to spread it out during the week.

For those who have done the internals. Where do you get this E8 socket?? Its like a 6 sided star. Ill try autozone, if not sears will have it.

i am surprised your car even started with that hose off the intake manifold. When mine came off it stalled out everytime i started it.

Thanks. That wheel cleaned up really well, I need to fix the other since it's got some winter 'stains' on it. Every spring I find myself cleaning this s*** off of them.

Steve, my latest wheel cleaning technique is to spritz a little Simple Green on them, let sit for a minute, and then hose off. If they're really bad, you'll still need a little scrubbing, but it's amazing how much less it takes.

I try to do this step before I wash the rest of the car, because then I feel like the soap will get rid of any residue. I have read that SG is bad for aluminum, and not to let it sit on anything for long, but I've done it several times and seem to have no problems with the finish.

Not sure yet but i think i found i tiny rust spot on my door this weekend after washing it.. i need a good detail and wax. But if by chance it is rust and not just some dirt or something caked up what should i do about this? what are my options?

Yep, that'll work. I typically hit them with a bit stronger cleaner and let it sit for a few, then clay and seal them before I store them. I'll be doing that and getting all the crap off of them before they get stuck in the garage.

Welcome to the forums Saxa, nice looking MPS, haven't seen one modded like that before. I like your rims.
