Not just cardboard, its CUSTOM!
I just noticed a funny suspension sound too. It reminds me of the plungery sound I noticed after swapping the front struts on my wife's '03 Cavalier for budget-friendly Monroe QuickStruts. I haven't been able to find anything actually wrong with the Cavalier's suspension, so it's got to be the new struts.
I'm guessing the Five's right-front strut has likewise developed a funny noise, though it still seems to be perming adequately ... the car only has 16,000 miles, but our roads are rather nasty, so hopefully it isn't anything nastier like a balljoint. Planning to have the dealer service department look at it when it's in for the 20-month oil change ... hoping they'll be able to replace whatever's gone bad under warranty, otherwise I'll have have to decide whether to pay for labor or to attempt a repair myself on a car I haven't yet located a Haynes manual for!
Had the dealer check it out whilst in for a regularly scheduled oil change and inspection. Service manager said it's actually the swaybar bushing, and that there's a TSB on the issue saying to first grease the bushings with a certain product, and then to replace if the problem doesn't go away. I'm not used to swaybars making any noise, ever - but then, my old cars were so loud I might not have noticed even if the swaybars were clunking.
Guessing I should look up the PN bushing people like to get from Energy Suspension, just out of curiosity.
... here's an example of the noise: http://instagram.com/p/eBiPqZIIat/
Finally put on the MS3 RSB. Paired it with Prothane bushings and Moog MS3 end links. The MS3 Moog end links are tricky to put on but there's a trick. This is how the car should have rolled off the assembly line! Still unsure if I want to do the FSB too... Next month or two, hope to put on the MS3 brakes back on and if time permit do the Coilovers.
EDIT:
Moog end links are MUCH beefier. For those considering Moog end links, it can be a pain to install. There's an opening to slide in an open wrench to hold the it down while you tighten. You then need a locking vice grip pliers to hold the wrench steady. I dont have one but a ratcheting wrench would be very helpful. Moog does NOT use center allen wrench to hold it down like OE end links.

I don't recall the part# but just pretend you have a MS3 and need to replace your bushing and end links - power of google. You can add closet maid caps to the moog links. What are the part numbers for the moog endlinks and prothane bushings? I just picked up a 1st generation rear bar and after seeing the side by side pics, no way will I use the original endlinks they gave me.
I am not familiar with that filter but if the compatibility catalog says it fits a Mazda3 or Ford Focus, you are good to go!Looking to do an oil change, but couldn't find the right filter. Would a Mobil 1 M1-102 filter work paired with Mobil 1 0w-20?
6 years is pretty good. I had to replace mine a few months back but I have an '08 so that's 5 years. I was cheated a yearChanged battery of the 2nd keyfob this morning for the first time. I changed the battery of the 1st keyfob a couple of months ago. Car purchased in December 2007, lasted about 6 years... what a POS OEM battery!
