What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Put on new tires. The OE tires lasted till 60K miles. Put on a set of Pirelli Scorpion tires and it is like a new car. The quietness and grip is just amazing.

Nice. Which Pirelli Scorpion's specifically did you go with? I'm looking to replace my OE ones very soon. Thanks.

Changed the oil and filter (the made in Japan one) at 3180 KMS. Second oil change, first oil filter change.

The first oil change was at 1100 km after breaking in the engine.

PIRELLI SCORPION AS PLUS 3. Same size as stock - 255/50.

I will say, it might be the time between when the OEM tires were new and now, but boy, after-market tires are a huge improvement over stock. The road handling, the noise, and performance blow the stock stuff out of the water. The new tires are so smooth it is like a new car.

Replaced the Evaporator after putting it off for too long.
Tip: All of the bolts and nuts for the dash are inside except for one. The dash has a stud that goes into the area around the wiper mechanism. You can see the hole in the photo above the pedal box and wire bundle.

Oh the CX9 screen is only held in by clips? I did this on a CX5 and Had to rip out the front dash to get to it.
Which tool did you use to pop it out, I was thinking of drilling a small hole for my phone charger behind it

Today I installed the NOCO Genius 5 eyelids into the battery of my 2023 made Mazda CX-9. Also installed the NOCO clamp in the garage. At the moment, the NOCO 5 Genius is optimizing the charge. Did this job more for the hard winter months. Better to install it in the warmer months though! 😅

I installed an accessory-3 fans on the dashboard.

Front vents blows ambient temperature air and hot air (if set to heater) but not cold air.

Rear vents blows cold and hot. One big name auto repair shop quoted me above $2,000 (USD) to have the AC compressor (with a remanufactured), condenser (new), and AC suction hose (new) replaced plus R143a evacuate/recharge. They refused to only do evacuate/recharge.

I declined to have those parts replaced so I installed 3 small fans on the dashboard. AC system is not on my priority tasks right now for my 2008 CX-9 FWD.

How loud are the fans?

I needed more space for a road trip, so I removed the third row (just three bolts) and jigsawed a 4x4 sheet of 1/2in plywood, then covered it in automotive fabric. Voila! It makes a noticeable difference in cargo capacity.
Too bad I only thought to do this now, as I am trading in the car this week for a new CX-90! Looks like the seats in that are the same, so I will likely do this again before the cottage run next summer...
