What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Put on a Beautost chrome hood trim piece on my 2019 Cx-5 Signature. Well worth the $95.00. I can't believe the factory left this off the design.

I think the chrome is out of place tbh (on all cx-5 variant). But I do like the piece and I would make it black to match the ret of the cars trim (along with the grille bar) if it was mine.

Way too much chrome...

But your car and your tastes. As our Aussie friend I haven't seen around for a bit always said, to each their own.

Finally picked it up! Over a month late but better late than never. 2019 GT-R SRC w/ parchment. I installed the Lamin-X bumper cover and put in the Mazda floor liners (thank you Canada). Going to take it next week for a good wax.

Glad you like it! [emoji106]

He's doing well (I checked on him a while back)just personal decisions.

I know, how dare he say the factory shouldn't have left it off!

Wash and car pro Essense. May ceramic coat over it tomorrow. Dealer is begging for it on trade for a 19 GT Reserve. Probably ain*t gonna happen, although it*s a pretty good deal at this stage in the game...

Installed the F & R Blackvue 750s dashcams that I removed from my traded '17.
The experience of installing these systems in several CX-5s (and other cars) over the years made this a quick and easy task.

I also probed the frameless HomeLink mirror harness (different from the harness in my '17) to locate "ground" and "hot" when the ignition is on.
A RJ-ll connector on the other end plugs directly into both my Uniden R-3 and Escort 360 radar detectors.

The hardwire cord I had installed in the '17 (and another in my MX-5 Miata) has copper pins that push alongside pins in the car's harness connector.
Unfortunately, I can't get the pins to insert into the Signature's harness.
Once I solder smaller pins in place, I'll get the hardwire installed so that I can run a radar detector without a cigarette lighter cord dangling.

I like that chrome piece...particularly on the red.

It's defining the grille shape nicely and it's adding to the look of front not subtracting.

I routed a USB-C cable from the centre armrest console through the tunnel and then up into the compartment under the climate controls.

When my phone was plugged in directly to the USB ports in the armrest console, it didn't have anywhere to site properly... just plopped awkwardly in the cup holder. So this way I can have it mounted on the centre vent and plugged in to AA. Much better! Sort of a hack job, but no one but me will know. :)

It is to much chrome for me too(maybe, if it would be painted silver, it would look better), but I like the rear hatch chrome trim, the one that resembles to the CX9 trim.

I installed the Lamin-X bumper cover.

Have one in my garage waiting for better weather to put on. Also have door sills. How did the job go? Ever done it before?

I want to do similar but just be able to lay my phone in the front console tray. Where do you have mini end of the cable coming in? Cut a hole? I was thinking of cutting a small hole in back of the tray wall and use a cable grommet. Did you pull off console trim to run the wire or just tuck it along the floor? How long of a cable did you need? Lots of questions...thanks!

Three days ago I did an oil/filter change and rotated the tires. Yesterday I changed the transfer case and rear diff fluids, along with a four corner brake job. I also checked the transmission fluid level, I did the drain/refill a while back and the shifting has been strange some time (mainly, holding a higher gear longer than it should have before upshifting). It was a little high, maybe 1/8" above the full mark so I sucked out the excess. So far it seems to be shifting normally.

Replaced the spark plugs with Mazda PE5R-18-110 (originals were PE5S-18-110) gapped to 0.041". Don't know what the starting gap was but the originals were all around 0.044.

Curious if those had an NGK model number on them like mine did. Definitely felt like I overpayed after seeing that!

Don't know the answer to that. I was annoyed that the hex size on the plug was a lot smaller than any of the plug sockets I had. Luckily I was able to get a very deep 14mm socket from Ace that worked.

Fitted the Mazdaspeed ebay knockoff pedals today. They arrived much faster than I expected, and look fine.

The accelerator pedal fits over the existing rubber pedal, but you have to take the Mazda brake pedal rubber off and replace it with the Mazdaspeed one.

You do need to use velcro on the footrest to stick it to the carpet because the 3m tape doesnt hold.

Lets hope they hold up to wear and tear over time.

Had the partial front (leading 24" of hood and fenders, full front bumper, headlights, backs of outside mirrors) of my new Signature professionally covered with XPel paint protection film.
Added cups behind exterior door handles, door edges, and top of the rear bumper.

I've had many cars done by the local factory store and the film has proven its worth time and time again.

Did the same when mine arrived a few minutes ago; but these are from Amazon and include shipping from a U.S. based vendor for a mere $30!

Very nice quality and in some ways better than the genuine pedals I had in my '17.

A quick install tip for the brake pedal cover: a little soapy water around two of the edges helps ease it on to the car's pedal.

Still awaiting the pneumatic hood lift kit and some door sill trim .... but those are in transit from China.

I had a hard time locally finding the correct size spark plug socket. Ended up getting one that was kinda tight and had to electrical tape it to the extension so it would actually come off the spark plug (and not stay on it) when I installed them and tried pulling it off.

Finally got my new MAZDA so called premium mats, great fit and finish but I don't think they are worth $150.....but they are better than carpet for me. I just got the fronts.
