What have you done to your CX-5 today?

What vehicle options were you able to maintain with the H/U? I want to improve the sound to my speakers from the poopy stock h/u, but certain setting that reset after ecu flashing I don't want to lose access to.

Decided to go ahead and install the dead pedal. I'm happy I did as I think it looks good.

Also got some new washing products and gave her a bath.

That glass cleaner is amazing. It's as if my windshield isn't even there.

Agree Bob, it looks great!

I might give that glass cleaner a go. I'm just using Windex at the moment, which is more of a household glass cleaner. It's not bad, but I think a car-specific one would be even better.

I also need to get a liquid car polish to bring out the shine and depth in the paintwork (Meteor Grey colour). Anyone know of any good ones?

Those rubber round pieces, should protrude into the pedal and your's doesn't look that way(gas pedal).

None.
I have set everything, before I have removed it.
I have Email and phone. No text with Samsung.
I has wi-fi build in and I can even browse the internet. It's android based, but there is no Google Play. Maybe if you hack it. I will look into that for sure. It would be nice to have the Escort Live app on the screen.
It's still doable now too, via the HDMI/MHL cable. I can mirror my phone screen, into the Kenwood's screen, but I have not played with that yet. Just tried it once.
I need to find a mount for my phone, in which the phone plugs in into the USB port and that port, would be the MHL port.

What kind of detector do you have? I wouldn't recommend getting anything cheap, just to have something. Only Escort line is recommended, or Valentine 1.
Everything is possible in my opinion, just post here your problem and we will try to help you. Mine, is hooked up, in the fuse box for example.

Once you switch to just about any of the "car-specific" cleaners you'll never go back to plain old Windex. They are all superior as is "Cinch", which is more of a general surface cleaner, but works very well on auto glass too.

Generally speaking, liquid wax/polish is always inferior to paste. Try Turtle wax "Ice" for an easy to use synthetic paste that laaasts!

Thanks for the tips Paris. I might give that paste a go. I actually enjoy getting out and washing/cleaning the car, but that might be just because it's still new. Ask me again in 6 months time haha!

You mean the 2 rubber pieces that the screws screw in to? Huh. Maybe I put them in backwards. Seemed like it could only go in one way but maybe not. Any chance you can get a close up pic so I can see the difference?

I think he may be referring to the aftermarket pedals not the OEM mazda ones? I've been shopping both myself. It is a little weird how the OEM ones only have the rubber on the brake pedal.

It kind of makes sense in that you certainly don't want your foot slipping off the brake pedal and when you go to transfer from accelerator to brake, you want to be able to slide your foot off with ease and not have the soles of your shoe get caught up with little rubber pieces sticking up. As for the dead pedal, I think I like it with holes only and no protruding rubber. Looks a little cleaner.

Yeah now that you say that, I remember on my WRX, the brake and clutch pedals had rubber that stuck out, the accelerator had rubber as well, but it didn't protrude past the aluminium. Just had to google search an image to verify.

Maybe this would work for you? Suction cup and a vent clip.

What did my wife do for our cx5? Took it to NC for 3 months [emoji17]

For suction cup, installed on the windshield, I can get a ticket here in CA.
I'm thinking about something more like ProClip style mount, but I don't want to block my vents. I need the A/C, here in Cali.
Anybody knows, how to remove the dash center grill?

Installed iPad Mini mount. Because of the bad OEM unit, I have to cancel downloading the damned phone book. Every. Damned. Time. I start the car. I swear, this head unit is a POS. Only when I get my iPad & iPhone properly connected, am I able to enjoy the CX-5. Infuriating, usually about 2 minutes after I start the car. /rant.

That mount looks good. Where'd you get it from? As for the syncing, have you tried shutting it off from the iPhone's BT settings menu? I have mine set to only sync my favorites and it pairs pretty quickly.
