What have you done to your 2010+ Mazda3 today?

Filled the tank on Sunday and then a trip thru the car wash. She looks so puuuuurty now. lol Also contemplating just how much work/$$$ would be required to implement a rear wiper. That is the biggest thing my wife misses of the MPV and I constantyl find myself reaching for the stalk after I've driven my car....

Got some new rubber on Friday. I was going to get the Kuhmo Ecsta ASX, because that's what I used on my old Protege and really liked them, but my mechanic recommended the Kuhmo Ecsta LX Platinum instead since they're supposed to last up to 60,000 miles. So far so good - definitely quieter and smoother than the stock Yokohamas.

I'm still waiting for my Tri-Point RSB to ship.

Also, I ordered Tenzo Tracer V1 Black Matte wheels, 18x8.5 +48, from Black Mamba Motorsports, on clearance for $440 + shipping. I wish I knew about the sale before I bought the tires for the stock rims, or I would have waited for the new wheels! It was just too good of a deal to pass up (regular price was $1080). I also ordered hubcentric rings from justforwheels.com and the McGard SplineDrive wheel lock kit from Amazon.com.

Took the car in to the dealer to get the noise from the windshield diagnosed. The tech heard the noise and later confirmed that there is a TSB issued and a foam strip needs to be ordered and will be placed under the cowl. I've read on other forums where members had windshields replaced due to this so we'll see if it works.

The only noise I notice is a rattle in the gauge cluster surround

Sure it's the surround? When my wife first told me about it, that's what I thought and then found a thread on another forum where other owners complained of the same. A few took the cars to the dealer with no luck and one or two had the windshields replaced. Apparently the windshield is held in place with clips on the line until they are sealed. Some of the clips do not get sealed completely so the windshield will vibrate against them or even the frame causing the noise. The TSB calls for the foam strip to be used...if the sound comes back it could be replaced or simply re-sealed to fix it.

Ah...mine didn't....first thing I pressed down when I heard the noise, followed by the defroster vent and dash itself.

Ahh good point - I think ours does it more when cold also.

DDM pedals installed!

Seriously, what a royal pain in the ass! The dead pedal and clutch pedal were really easy, but the brake pedal and accelerator pedal made me want to tear my hair out. Tiny hardware + fat thumbs = recipe for frustration!

Also, FYI - the curvature of the DDM accelerator pedal does not quite match the stock pedal. To prevent the rubber from pushing through, I applied a bit of Loctite superglue between the rubber and the aluminum; hopefully, it will hold up.

(P.S. I apologize for the blurry iPhone 3GS pics!)

Nice floor lights. I want to get the OEM for '10 speed but it's sorta pricey. I just installed the CorkSport tow plate to relocate the license plate where the tow hook would go. It gives it a different look and in NJ we have to have one in the front. I also just removed the "mazdaspeed 3" emblem in the back. Looks decent.

Thanks! I have the OEM kit, which I bought from www.partsformymazda.com for $125 (it's now $126, lol) - it's totally worth the money in my opinion.

Post some pics of the tow plate and de-badge!

I will soon once my camera is charged again. Do you know what I almost did to my mazda today? A soccer mom almost backed her Honda Oydssey's big a** into me; I had to swerve out of the way in the park lot. It was so close - PHEW. I went to the mazda dealership near where I work and they wanted 161 for the footwell OEM light kit. That's a steep price and they weren't so helpful either. I'll probably order them online I guess.

I just got lamin-x foglight covers in yellow and oem all-weather floor mats. Floor mats were a breeze to install (duh), but I was disappointed in the foglight covers. Thought they would be more yellow than what I got. But I guess it still looks better than stock. Still waiting on my HID kit.

Here is the over-due photo of the tow-plate. And because I didn't have a regular camera, the pics are sorta crappy, but you get the idea. Also, the fogs have the lamin-x covers, but again you really can't tell that well in the iphone photo.
