hey guys well i was driving my car yesterday night and sudenly it began tu cut out and then shut of tried to turn it on again but notthing cheked fro any problem and there wasnt any so decided after a while turn it on again and it just started normally whatu thinks might be i have intake and header but never happened anything like this since 2 o 3 years so what are ur suggestion to check thanks guys.....ur help would is needed...

Yeah the MAF can be cleaned. I bought some electrical cleaner spray stuff from the store the other day and cleaned mine. But from what i hear the MAF's going bad on the Protege's is a common problem?

FYI - mazda put a 7 year 70k mile extended warranty on the maf

well i just took my maf out and really thee problem i think was there coming from it it was very dirty all covered with a black pasty material cleand it with a break cleaner worked great and then spray it with an electronic spray can went for a turn in definitly reponse better i didnt thougth that the maf should be cleaned but i know thanks guys for ur help...

Heck yeah Kansei, i'll trade you straight up for my 00' DX 1.6l (yippy) lol. I've been lookin to sell my protege and buy another with a 2.0 anyway .
