and be switched between by a toggle?

I want to run a dual stage Boost controller with two settings, one for Street/Normal driving and be able to switch on the fly to a higher boost setting with the proper mapping.....For ass kicking mode.

I am open for suggestions.

Microtech has an adapter and switch for that. Haltech does also switch maps with a toggle switch.

Ok..Now what are my Basic MBC type Boost controllers that will do two boost settings off of a single toggle?

505Zoom used to sell one I beleive..bu tI dont remember the details.

If you are tunning with MAP sensor, one map can handle variable boost.
Problem with MBC's is that it doesnt control the wastegate the same way EBC's do, so it may run leaner/richer in some spots (afs difficult to dial)

So..What is your sugestion then..I am open here.

The mpi tuner(smt-6) can run 2 maps and all you need is a dual boost controller and a toggle switch in the car.You can switch maps while driving as well.

Wait...The MPI can run two maps and switch on the fly?
I need some Techical Info on that unit..I actually have one..but no paperwork on the install..Is there a site I csn go to for info on Technical specs and install info?

yea you can. i have a switch setup in my car.

be careful with all of the writeups. there are several different versions of the mpi and several versions of write ups. i had to weed through them to figure out which one i needed.

then if you set the unit up as dana does, then the wiring changes once again.

so just be careful.

Don't run two maps - especially just for power levels.
Tune the car correctly with one map that will handle the full range of boost possibilities.
There is no reason to have multiple maps, other than to take advantage of different fuel types.

Just get any EMS you like, (please, no piggybacks). Use only 1 map.

2nd map can be used if you want to run VP fuels or whatever invention you want to try.

hows that "SMT-6 " is running for you, that's piggy back. Which diagram you followed to install it the 626 2.0 16v 92-97 one ?? They don't have any thing else close to MSP/MP3 year.
SOrry for jumping like this but i can't pass it bc i'll forget to ask later on.Any details would be app., as well as suggestion towards it .

i changed my setup from the mpi wat to a map sensor and o2 clamp.

no cold start up issues
emissions legal
no bucking or check engine lights
easy to tune
easy to adjust

What i was referring to for the install of the mpi, Nick has different turbo modules and ways the unit tunes. Some of his modules are MAF based while others are o2 based. I was suggesting that whomever tries to install an mpi know exactly which unit they bought so they dont do it incorrectly. However, i suggest setting the unit up not in the MPI fashion but the way Dana and so many other people do now to "fix" the mpi. If you want a ton more info, send me a pm. il email you alota info on my setup and why i chose it. the advantages/disadvantages, wiring diagrams, install instructions, etc.

I use two maps, and the Haltech's built in EBC. I use one map for 91 octane, and the other is tuned for 100 Octane. You only need two maps for different fuel types, as the timing on my race gas map is FAR more agressive. I put a covered toggle switch in the glovebox to switch maps. I use the Haltech trim knob for bosot control. All the way down is wastegate default 7psi, then all the way up is 22psi. When I'm on map B (race gas) the knob changes to 7-26psi.

My debate here is OVer..I have purchased the Microtech LT10s....I look forward to hopefully putting down some good number with it.

I'm hopimg so..I got a decent deal on it..so That makes me happy.
